Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions

Just tried the demo with the controller only. My drop ceiling is too low for a full swing with Kinect right now. I may end up moving my 360.

-I like the new swing overall. Feels much more natural.

-Graphics are nice

-The pins you earn seem kind of cheesy. Being able to reduce the wind by 30%? I mean, I guess you can just not use them but it hurts realism to be there. Hopefully that is changed in the final version.

-Putting feels weird. Hard to describe. It feels like it is on rails. I'm hoping that is the bug being described as fixed in the final version. There seems to be zero friction even on average greens.

-Chipping/short shots - what a nightmare! I'm sure I just need to learn to set up my shots. The one thing I don't get is on a little chip opening up your stance shouldn't add much draw (not sure how to describe what I mean).

I really need to know that the putting is going to be better in the final version before I buy. I don't get what they did to it, but it was fine in the past few versions.

Just played the demo twice, once at Augusta and once at Kiawah. I dont mind the changes and like that you can select carry distance or full distance.

Having trouble with the tempo (always slow).

Also on chips or pitches, I underswing and still blast it 10 yards past the hole.

Might want to pay a visit to the EA Tiger forums as there is a dedicated thread regarding tempo as well as other discussions on this and other topics surrounding the swing changes.

ALright, I'll check it out.

I do like the way the caddie is done on manual. Can get help when wanted, but otherwise he is out of the way.

I like that your swing length meter varies based on where you aim.

Being able to move the ball and open/close stance should be fun.

Short game shots still baffle me. I cant figure out how to leave one short. No matter what I do on the meter I drill it long.

Been playing more with the Kinect and the PS Move, and I had a question (for those using the Kinect). Is there no swing meter to gauge how well/bad you swing your club? On the Move, I'm able to see my swing feedback, but notice that it's missing on the Kinect. I checked the menus to make sure that it's still enabled, but it doesn't show up on mine. Just wondered if anyone else is having this issue.

The graphics seemed to be very much improved but that's about it.

I hate this new swing meter, it makes the game too easy. One of the most thrilling parts of all other Tiger games was when you had to estimate the percentage of backswing. Now the swing meter visually shows you where to stop.

And what happened to the focus meter? I loved the focus meter!

Me too. I can't figure out how to set up a chip or a pitch shot? It seems like you always have to take a full swing which makes those short ones incredibly touchy.

I'm still trying to figure out if I just still need to practice more or if the game is just unnecessarily hard in certain areas. I can handle the full swing, but I can't figure out the short game with any consistency.

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions

I played one hole and deleted the demo. Frame rate was choppy, didn't like the swing meter, couldn't stand the putting gauge...IMO there is no compelling reason what so ever, based on the demo, to spend $60 on this game if you have a previous copy.

I'll just stick with the older version I have and wait a couple more years for either a new golf game to come out or until the TW franchise does something that really interests me. this game feels stuck in the same rut Madden is stuck in, EA is afraid to do anything substantial and what they currently have is "ho-hum" at best.
