I've seen doubling pre patch, haven't seen any post patch.

Basically, it was a few CPU double teams here and there, but nothing special.

Now i see none. Hope 2k address this

I guarantee you didnt see any doubling prepatch [other than the odd ballhandler trap when initiating a pick n roll.]

What you wouldve been seeing is help D collapsing when you drive the lane or a help defender swiping at the ball because he was in the vicinity of the ball to do so.

I tested this for countless hours. I have NEVER seen the cpu double a player backing down or iso'ed to force you to look elsewhere for offense.

I'm pretty sure i did man. Not sure what the odd ballhandler trap, but i saw it. Basically, my skill player were got doubled once, well, i don't know what it is, but it looked like a double to me. No Centers getting doubled, no PF getting doubled.

I suspect they tried to improve this somehow and QA never caught whatever bugs they introduced. Something is amiss with how they are testing in QA. Did we raise the lack of doubling well before the patch?

I feel like on OS, we need someone deeply knowledgable and level headed-- who understands the issues and also the limitations of the team (like Da_Czar) to generate a bug list sorted by priority to 2K rather than a massive thread. It should give 2K an idea of *must fixes* and *nice to have fixed* that reflects our overall sentiments here. Not that everyone will agree-- accessories issues are pretty far down the list for me, since you can fix most of them yourself, but it would be nice to have a coherent targetted list.

Having long threads on one topic is good for discussion, but I don't expect 2K to be able to distill it down to key issues when valuable insights are lost among rants and those unable or unwilling to see the flaws. I know Da_Czar has been doing that some but it'd be nice if as a community we could have a more targetted effort to make things easier for 2K. Otherwise we end up with unnuanced quick fixes that don't quite address the situation fully.

Can't wait for EA to bring out their basketball game next year.

Not to start trouble at all, i'm still going to buy 2k, but i want 2k to have some competition so they can put their 110% effort into a game.

Sigh. Same. And it'll likely make them less distracted by something like the DLC. DLC's for 2K should be kept to classic teams, players, jerseys, and such. Maybe very desired game modes (though this would make some mad). NOT polishing the game mode that no one really plays much in the first place. They can get rid of blacktop completely if it helps them key in on the main game.

I thought this was the year 2K12 would put EA away for good-- A plethora of legends, better presentation, enhanced gameplay systems, how can they not? But with the lack of attention to game balance, dropping options and modes, and a pithy amount of fixes in the patch, judging by the general sentiments of many 2K long timers here, 2K actually left the door open for EA this year. Really, really odd situation.

Agreed. Next year, please, keep that DLC stuff away from us. Also, we don't need all these damn game modes like Create A Legend / Blacktop. Waste of space, don't you think? 2k could be using that to improve gameplay. I don't understand, you know people want gameplay first, as a company, your mentality should be: Make sure the game-play is top notch before adding anything else into the game.

Re: NBA 2K12 Patch 1.04 Available Now - Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

I'm enjoying the game alot more post-patch. People are not consistently draining contact shots with star players. The game seems to have slowed down alot in quick matches. It feels like they may have set the sliders to Simulation, but I'm not sure enough to say that they did it for certain. Off-dribble three point shot success has been drastically decreased!!! That alone helped to balance the game alot more. Taking the ball inside is actually a smart strategy now because camping on the three line until your opponent slips up is nowhere near as effective as it was pre-patch. Passing is much better; I have not seen as many floaty lobs as I was seeing pre-patch. I actually performed a bounce pass on the break :-). 2k did a great job of balancing the gameplay with this patch.
