Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #4 Details, Available on Nov. 8

I agree, NCAA and Madden are both stale and I'm tired of the same ol stuff on both games. I hope someday new competition will emerge but I'm not going to hold my breath. I only purchased NCAA this year,(1st time in a few years) rented Madden (flawed IMO).

I doubt I will purchase either NCAA or Madden until the next cycle of consoles come out or they have competition.

I'm afraid though that the next NCAA and Madden games for the new consoles that EA will start out with very limited features so they can add features every year to milk the money from us year after year. Lets hope they make some really huge improvements on the next cyle of consoles, but we will see.

So EA has basically said:
1. They are incompetent and do not understand their own code. or
2. Screw you fans, we aren't going to fix our broken product, now start saving up for NCAA 2013.

I honestly think its both. They don't want to invest the time to do it right understand the effects of changes and make the features work as advertised, but expect their doormat sheep fans to line up next year to buy this garbage.

I never thought I would say this, but I hope they cancel the NCAA series in hopes of a new developer emerging in a couple years.
I completely agree with this, on all levels. At the very least the development team of NCAA needs to be completely overhauled. The guys there now just don't get it. Football or programming. That's a pretty bad 0 for 2 when you're making a football game.

I still think that probably the biggest issue is that high up in EA they have greatly downsized and understaffed the NCAA team, with complete knowledge of the fact that they can utilize the patching process to fix bugs.

Internet connectivity of consoles is the single worst thing that has ever happened to single player gaming.

So I finally get my new modem and router and I come back to find this? SMDH.

EA Tiburon

These football games current gen have no identity. No soul. What a shame.

It would help if game reviewers wouldn't just take a quick look at the new 3d grass/dreads/mascot mashup/pee stains and automatically give it a high rating instead of actually taking a closer look at it. Even OS gave it an 8.5 and doesn't even mention "transfer failed." How bad would it look for Hamburger and co. if they got horrible press and all these game magazines came out rating it 4.5/10, 5/10 etc. and calling it a bug-filled mess?

Nothing's going to happen. People will still buy it. Sadly, this is what EA is counting on.

I wouldnt ever expect reviews here or on other fansites to ever really represent what the game is. Truth of the matter is that not only this fansite, but others as well, have brought employment opportunities to those that run the websites with EA.

One of EAs greatest assets is the hype machine they can create and they do it very well.

I think a review score of 4.5 could easily be justified. Take a point away for each major area that is broken or glitched and then deduct points for the game feeling stale and lack of innovation and there you have it.

Most review places including OS could write their review for NCAA 2013 right now and it would come in at a solid 8.5. Thats basically the standard, if you put it the tray and it fires up, its getting at minimum an 8.
