We were talking about how the 360 is an earlier build, which I think it was last year, and as I can recall, the PS3 demo last year was an even earlier build than the 360 version.

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

i'm starting to notice the defensive locomotion feels a bit sluggish and delayed. like sometimes if i just barely touch the left stick, my player will take this really delayed, SLOW step...or sometimes he will take 2 or 3 steps when he should've just taken one. just feels kind of "loose" and sloppy.

the defensive control can feel a bit herky jerky and inconsistent...like the game is causing my man to slow down and speed up at times without my input. feel like it should just be a bit smoother and more responsive, and the speed at which my player moves should be more consistent, more predictable, and more controllable...for example...if i'm holding the left and right triggers for the "fast shuffle", my player doesn't always move at the same speed...it feels like the game will sometimes force him to move more slowly, and will then make him speed up out of nowhere...if you are holding both triggers for the "fast shuffle", the player should always move at the same speed...there should be no unexpected speed bursts or slow-downs.

good control is all about consistency of movement and predictability of movement...meaning, when you do a certain button combination, you should always get the same movement at the same speed, so that you can repeat that movement again when you need to...but if the game doesn't give you consistent results each time for the same controller input, you feel frustrated and helpless...like the game is preventing you from doing what you want.

i feel like 2k11 was pretty good at this in terms of the defensive locomotion - it felt pretty consistent and there weren't any of the random speed bursts or slow-downs that i'm seeing in 2k12.

it's not a major issue, but it's worth looking into and improving if possible.

good post, not a major grip in anyways but i agree with the op, consistancy in defensive movement is where gameplay can still improve, but i reserve my judgement when the final version drops

i'm also really not liking the delay to the block animations.

when i press the block button, it often takes forever for my player to start the block animation. it's really delayed. for some reason they were able to make the pull up jumpers super quick and responsive, but they couldn't do the same for the block animations. this gives the offensive player an unfair advantage...because shooters can rise up and shoot at lightning speed, yet defenders can't rise up as quickly to defend those shots...the game isn't giving you the proper tools to counter the speed of the offensive player.

The demo feels like NBA 2K11.5, and in a good way! I was not impressed after one run with the demo, but after multiple runs one word comes to my mind: consistency!

The gameplay is so organic, I had to readjust how I played. Real basketball is rewarded, and that is always a plus. Presentation wise, the intro has not gotten old YET, and 2K is hit and miss on certain players.

Overall, this can possible upstage NBA 2K11, and one can agrue it was the greatest basketball game of all time. In the words of Bart Scott: CAN'T WAIT!

I believe i brought this up earlier in this thread that i could not block lebron, when multiply times i timed it perfect and my player stuck to the foor. I think I asked posters, had they blocked LBJ's threes, but no one responded. so idk.

I played the demo a few times yesterday, i timed the block perfect not even a step away, my player just raised his hand/didnt jump. LBJ jump passes then my player jumps after he passes(only pressed the block button once in this whole sequence) when he passes out of the shot, LBJ cuts to the goal. almost feels like the game is programed so you cant realy lock down the stars.

Is this what they mean when they say "a star playing like a star". meaning its now way to play perfect defense on them? I hope not.

@ all the hard core demo players. What ways do you use to aggressively block/defend aggresive jumpshooters?

The delay is a demo only issue! Been stated many times before.

Not experiemcing any delay in movement at all....if anything I think its a little to much freedom right now lol

I think bball games need at least a little bit of "locking on" on D. People wanted to completely remove all "bumping" but I think its a necessary evil to maintain balance.

Im just hoping its the "slow Mavs defenders" that is making it hard for me to stay in front of people and this isnt how every defender is....its gonna be hell vs a human..
