If it was the other way around you would complain that there are too many fouls and how its not letting you play the little time we have to play the gameplay

Others would, but not me. I play sports games to play sims of the real life thing. This year's FIFA just doesn't do it for me. Not a bad game by any stretch, just not my cup of tea for a few reasons.

Now, are there some real soccer aficionados who prefer little to no fouls? I'm sure there are. But the majority of the complaints about 'too many fouls' in years past have come primarily from guys who don't watch or play soccer and are just a FIFA-loving gamer who wants to continue the sports free-flowing nature.

Re: FIFA 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3, PC)

I like both games for what they are, not what they aren't.

Listen, I played more PES last year than FIFA, but this year I see me doing the opposite. The reason is because I don't even get a new feels to PES this year, like I do with FIFA. PES feels really clunky to me. I get the ball and I feel like it takes so much time to make a turn and pass the ball. Football isn't like that. Especially if you watch the BPL. It's very fast paced. PES is really slowed down and sprinting with a guy feels like a jog. It just doesn't feel fluid to me as it once did.

FIFA has done a great job this year. Sure there are things to improve. PES has a ton to improve on too IMO. This whole arguing back and forth, claiming cause you're an "ex-pro" (Seriously, really dude?) that you are qualified (I understand the comment made before that) to make observations as to what is real football and what isn't real is stupid. It's always going to be subjective. If those of us, who love PES can't see the flaws it has now, and how far it's come from what is used to be, you'd see how great FIFA is now these days. I'm just having a hard time with the clunkiness of PES.

This game is spectacular. It's only 3 mins and only has 6 teams, but each team plays so different it's not funny.

Tactical defending is amazing. Is it different, yup, but in a good way. Before you could use the R-Stick to go shoulder to shoulder, but now you can do that, plus tug on opponent's shirts to slow them down, etc.

I think the problem is most people play with automatic controls and things such as auto switching on, but believe me, if you learn to play on manual the game definitely responds better.

I used to be a HUGE PES guy and even got an infraction years ago for talking down FIFA, but pes has been a joke since PES 6, imo and it pains me to say that cause i HATE EA! lol

I like some things about PES, but it still feels as though the game isnt very fluid and it's hard to get the ball to go as fast as you want, to whome you want, etc.... whereas FIFA's ball has its own physics so it works sooo well, imo.

I wish Seabass got fired from PES and these two games joined today and take each game's best qualities and form SUPER-SOCCER muahaha
Man... I couldn't agree more with you. I remember the first time I stumbled onto PES (probably back in 2000 or so) and I couldn't get off the couch. I was HOOKED. And I stayed with it for a few years but FIFA gradually started catching up. Now I find PES boring and stale and while FIFA isn't prefect I DO feel like it's been making big steps in the right direction every single year. This year, the tactical defending is awesome. Like I said before, you can't just jockey and stab anymore. You have to really play defense. I feel like many people knock the new defending because they don't like the change. But to me, the change was necessary and very well accepted.

I also play on all manual (switching, passing, crossing, through balls, shooting, etc) and I agree that the game plays completely differently this way (and I like it).

My only compaint with the game is that for whatever reason (and this happens every year for me) I'll play about 2 full seasons and then I start getting bored with it. It starts feeling repetitive. To break this monotony up I try to go online and play but all I get all arcade players that just piss me off - all they want to do is sprint straight up field as fast as possible on offense and on defense all they want to do is slide tackle with every single player. WAY annoying.

In the first year of introducing the online team play I was HOOKED. I found about 4 guys that I started playing with and we had a blast. After a while we kept running into a few other teams (if you want to use that term) that were similar to us and we had some **** matches.

But now when I try this I find a bunch of hooligans and I just get frustrated. I'm 36 - I don't have hours and hours to play each night so taht I can find a good group of guys to play with. Back in the day I could do this but I don't have the time anymore.

Wow... I just rambled quite a bit didn't it?

Anway - I still plan on buying the game on or near release day. If there are others out there that like to play like I do, hit me up on Xbox Live. My tag is MebbyExpress (or something close to that... sounds ridiculous but I can't remember exactly). I'm in Charlotte, NC and I love to play online with people that enjoy a sim experience because I get bored with manager mode and I hate all the normal online players.

This game is great as far as playing human vs human. Human vs. CPU is much harder to replicate a game of real soccer.

It is FUN, it is a video game, and it caters to what MOST FIFA fans want.

The bolded text is what my point was. Fifa still does a lot of things right, it just doesn't give me enough variety and feels scripted at times -- that's why I moved on.

That's exactly what I was thinking Moses.

Human v Human it seems like it would be a blast.

But, there are complaints that, even in that mode, the ai guys you're not controlling don't play smart soccer, making runs into space and such.

I'd like to hear from those who play this way to get more info on it.

I completely understand what you're saying, as often times I'll find one of my AI teammates making the complete opposite run I'd like him to (FIFA 11). I think the FIFA 12 demo has improved this aspect of the game, and it seems that the AI has increased intelligence in this regard. However, I have not logged enough time to comment much further on the AI.
