The rest of your 10 players should play realistically. If your playing your MLB and the CPU is doing a pass play, your DB's should react in a realistic manner and the outcome of the play should be realistic, and the outcome of the sum of the plays in a game should be realistic.

Also,
Really the CPU should play up to a certain level. Better than a user could control someone. It should be up to the user to try and play up to that level when they take control of a player. A CPU vs CPU game should provide very accurate results. It should be the users challenge to be able to play up to how good the CPU would have performed (when the user takes control of a position).

Right now, taking control, you almost guaranteed to be able to play better than the CPU. So you have a lot of control to skew stats.

if you want realistic just stay away from the video game world and watch the actual games on tv

If I put a game on CPU vs CPU, I see a lot of un NFL like things go on. Including some unrealistic stats. O-Lineman standing around and letting a D-lineman by w/o touching the D-Lineman. In the Demo, I had 3 0-lineman not block anybody while one DLman went right past them.

Another Demo game I wanted to see how well the CPU players played and two Bears receives had over 50 yards PER RECEPTION.

For grins I did that spectator mode on both All Pro and All Madden and watched for a while. Bad things happened. Now I can only control one of those players at a time to try and make that one player play better.

But really, a CPU vs CPU (or in the demo it's called spectator) should result in good/smart football that produces realistic results. And it did not. Now I haven't messed with sliders in the demo much at all. But may things I see are things I've seen in previous Maddens that I've had a hard time trying to get realistic results.

The game is more arcade than sim. Much of the OS staff that reviewed the Demo thinks the same thing (if you have read the OS Staff impressions thread).

Really, since somebody wants a realistic and not arcadish NFL Video game they should just stop wanting one?

Your comment just isn't constructive in any way.

Since Madden is the ONLY NFL Video Football game, your kind of stuck with trying to make madden as realistic as possible.

In terms of gameplay on the field Madden does nothing for me & doesn't really separate itself from NCAA other than the teams, stadiums & unis. Graphics are slightly better but thats about it. I feel like Im playing the same game with the same animations and the same feel. I'll just stick with NCAA since I'm a bigger college fan than Pro.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I just played again. This time on Very Slow.

It is a demo and an early build. I can't judge the actual game just yet and really get a true feel for everything.

But I have to say this feels like a brand new game. Nothing like Madden 10 and 11 IMO. It feels much tighter, looks amazing and I can already see myself putting in hundreds of hours in franchise mode for a few years. If the enhanced franchise mode features and DPP come through this game will be a classic.

I have always loved Madden and been a Madden guy. This game will not convert you if you have been down on Madden.

I feel the game will blow away 10 and 11.

After putting more time in with the Demo, I have a much better feeling about Madden 12 than I did Madden 11 after its demo.

At this point, you either like EA's take on football games or you don't. I can accept both NCAA and Madden for what they are, and I think there are a lot of things EA does really well on the field. Are there flaws? Sure, just like with any game. Are these games on the level of NBA 2K or MLB The Show? No, but at least I am seeing improvement.

Not sure if it's been pointed out, but I'm pretty positive that the higher a player's consistency is, the longer it takes for DPP to kick in for them.

Example: Jay Cutler's been sacked 3 times. He is now nervous regarding sensing pressure and aggressive regarding forcing passes. Meanwhile, Rodgers has been sacked 5 times, and he's thrown an interception, but his tendencies haven't changed. I also noticed that after Cutler completed 2 or 3 passes in a row and then threw a beautiful TD pass to Johnny Knox, he went up to Average in sensing pressure and Ideal in forcing passes.
