If it is a problem with the tendencies then I think the most simple way to make everyone happy is to unlock the tendency setting like NBA 2K has. That way we can make QBs scramblers or HBs speed backs and there would be no need to start anything over.
The problem is they play according to what is displayed on the 1st screen not what is displayed in the skills section.

I said the same thing last night and someone thought I was Bs'ing.. It's night and day.. Game is pretty damn good without names right now

Erased named rosters, played roughly 6 games on default All American last night, and like magic the game plays like it did during my review process. It's hard to explain exactly what I was seeing, with the best description being that the CPU simply played a smarter, more realistic game.

-If a CPU QB was listed as a scrambler they would scramble at every opportunity, making split second decisions on whether or not to run from the pocket (See attached DRob video). This made playing against Michigan, Miami, and default roster Ohio State a blast--kept me on my toes.

- Linebackers no longer had 48" vertical leaps
- Special teams play had opened up. The CPU was able to break off some solid returns and I was able to do the same.
-Speed backs no longer lower the boom--the touted momentum tackling contact system looks to be back in place--if a big player hits a speed back they will react accordingly if they can not juke out of the tackle.
-User safeties were no longer able to maneuver behind CPU WR's to make the auto pick. Also this may be placebo but it seemed like DB's with their back turned toward a receiver could also no longer initiate an automatic jumping pick attempt by pressing the "Y" button. Awareness seemed to be tied to the player being able to see the ball--no more eyes in the back of their head.
-The variety of multiple hit tackle animations and broken tackle animations was greatly increased

I HIGHLY recommend deleting the rosters and waiting for the patch if you have been frustrated by any of the above issues. Very happy this issue was brought to my attention. As I said the game has felt off to me the past week, and I never thought to correlate that to the downloading of new rosters.

There has to be some issue with certain tendencies, coupled with certain players ratings, making them play a certain style that is flawed. Whether it be blocking, tackling, scrambling, route running, coverage, and INT's, the overall game simply does not play as smart as it did pre rosters.

Deal with no names til the patch or trade it in..


Some of you sound like the guys who's wife cheats and you take her back. Yet, she cheats again and again.. You knew the deal before you took her back ( The GF here is EA

I've never been impressed with the testing EA does and this is just another example of why they need to pay attention to that area more. It's 2011 and they still released a game with some major issues.

Hopefully it's just a coding issues that can be taken care of. I can't play this game with default or random named rosters so this is a gamebreaker for me. I held onto NCAA 11 and will play that if this can't be fixed.

Yea I have to agree. Seems like every year there'a a bug or two that makes me wonder what EA's testing department is doing.

I'll say this though, after glancing over the "Bugs/Glitches" thread, and now this issue, I now see why quite a few ppl on here wait a week or two to buy the game so they can see what glitches/bugs this game has. I would always laugh at them cause I would either A.) Think they're lying, or B.) Think they were crazy for waiting that long to pick up a good game.


But now I'm seeing the light...

The problem lies in where the game "updates" the player into the roster. For example; when you go into edit the player it is listed as the correct tendency, but after saving the player (the game "updates" the player to the roster database) it then flips the tendencies around.

EA, here is your fix (if its a simple database coding error); fix the coding error. That should fix the problem, even if it means having to go into each player editing one thing and then the game "self" updating the roster.

But why are we not allowed to change the tendency anymore anyways?

That's the part that ticks me off something serious. Not only waiting for FK to do his hard work, but also all the equipment editing I did. Changing so many players' socks to mid, changing visors, dreads, etc.

Do we know if the game is affected after 3 or 4 seasons with the new computer generated classes coming in? Or does the name rosters mess up the whole game even if we simmed/played 4+ seasons already?
