Some of wondered why we didn't mention this with our offline franchise and that's because we were still hard at work in the development process and did not want to to make this announcement until we knew for sure what we'd be able to get into the game this year.

As I stated earlier, we are dedicated to improving the online franchise experience and I think the addition of Roy Harvey as the new Executive Producer of Madden should make you guys feel the same way. Just take a look at the work that has been done with Online Dynasty under his watch over the years and you'll start to get a sense of the dedication that the new leadership team has.
"Since we revealed the details of the Offline Franchise mode, the most requested question has been, “What upgrades have you made to Online Franchise mode?” We set aggressive development goals for Madden NFL 12 – from the improvements to Offline Franchise and Superstar modes, to the complete overhaul of visuals, addition of custom playbooks, a new collision system, our yet to be discussed Online Communities feature, and more. When it comes to the tight schedule of an annual development cycle, we have to make tough decisions, and it became apparent as we continued to work through our campaign that there was no way to deliver a deep, fully connected Online Franchise experience that you deserve this year. Therefore, there will be no additions to Online Franchise mode in Madden NFL 12"

REALLY?? REALLY EA??? im not trying to get banned or have my psn banned AGAIN by EA but let's be real here. yall spend all this time on grass? yall spent all this time on team entrances? yall spent all this time on OFFLINE improvements. let's be honest here, madden is an online game. i have several friends that play madden and not 1 plays madden for the offline franchise features. all the online franchises that are registered on the EA servers and all the users that play lobby games u know that this is an online only game. here is what yall could ATLEAST DO..ATLEAST DO FOR YOUR LOYAL FANS WHO BUY THIS 65 DOLLAR GAME.

1) add a practice or scrimage mode
2) give commissioners more authority to change scores of games, move around draft picks, and restart games from a select time, score, and down and distance just in case a disconnection happens
3) randomizations of cpu generated draft classes names and attributes.

these 3 "features" can easily make millions of fans happy. these are minor things that shouldnt take to much of your time away from upgrading grass to put in the game. its amazing that EA holds back information for selected dates to tell us what we want to know. i think that it is funny how when asked questions about this they say things like we aren't talking about this right now. why not talk about it? why not come out and say we have nothing to report on this topic because we made no improvements. not even 3 simple improvements that i listed about. im still getting madden simply because it is the only nfl football game out. i think that you guys here at EA take us for granted and realize that ya'll are the only game in town so u can let us down with no worries. Just amazes me that's all.

the "improvements" ya'll made in gameplay are old improvements. this is an online game...ONLINE..who cares about offline. ya'll should know this. hahahahahha omg this is terrible but what are we gonna do when EA has a strangle hold on that damn contract...NOTHIN. but buy this rabbit *** game.

Actually the main game mode is still "Offline" game modes. Maybe for you and I its an online only game but for many others its not.

EA can go to hell regarding it's online franchise -- if that's what you want to call it. Everything this numb-nut is telling the public about why we couldn't do this in time and why we couldn't do that in time t ... it's the same old pathetic and redundant statement every year! BE PRO-ACTIVE!!! YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE FACED WITH ... PREPARE FOR IT AND GET IT DONE! STOP WITH ALL THE F@$#$#%@% EXCUSES!!!

NOW WE KNOW why certain people aren't there anymore!!!!!

This announcement is a pretty big deal for those of us who were hoping to see a fully-realized online franchise mode this year which they have been promising now for years and, not only have they failed to deliver on that promise, they have even failed to merely provide steady implementation of new features (as this year it seems there are NO new features to online franchise).

This game has fallen behind every other offering that EAsports has and it is supposedly their biggest, most sought-after product (at least in the U.S.).

where is teambuilder for this franchise with multiple alt jersey/pant options (with the ability to create expansion teams and initiate am exp-draft)? simple features that I thought should have been implemented once NCAA developed. This is why having two separate dev-teams for Football games is ridiculous (at the very least I want the button schemes to be identical e.g. the throw-the-ball-away button that kills me every time as I go from playing NCAA to MAdden)

I like where the team is going (prolly the peopl that are replacing the ones who have already left), but there is a long way to go to win back the good faith of life-long fans such as myself.

IT also bothered me to hear that there is no point system in the superstar mode. They just throw you in as a starter right off the bat. There is no game!! You're the starter! That's it!! Where is the game!?! They couldn't even be bothered to port over the RTG point system from NCAA!!!!

I do not get it!!!! I guess I now know why those guys left. It was leave and save face or get axed.

They need to scrap the Tiburon name and re-build from the ground up.

And if they start the next-gen era by offering a feature-less game like 5 years ago I will never (NEVER, EVER!!) purchase another EAsports game again.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Mini Blog - Online Franchise Update

It is good that they brought it up now so that the Online Franchise only folks can save their money and not later on feel like they were hoodwinked. They told us last year about no improvements to Offline Franchise, so it was an easy decision for me to not buy M12. Disappointment but no anger, they made their design decisions, and dealt with the consequences of those choices without obfuscation. That all you can really hope for.

Yes online franchise has been severely neglected for the last couple of years, but going forward from now, I think that modes will always have a heavy year, light year cycle, and many of us may choose to not buy the game in the year where our preferred mode is "light".

The one thing that I don't think will be skimped on in any year any more, is gameplay. I feel like Cam Weber and Roy Harvey are committed to making solid improvements in that area every single year.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
