....someone run a poll here with ONLINE versus OFFLINE franchise...I bet offline is far ahead of online in terms of what players play most often.
You don't understand what's being stated here, not to mention, it's easy for you to say that because you probably don't play in online franchises. A lot of folks on OS do not realize how big the online league community really is. It's incredible how many leagues are out there, and many of them don't use the madden online franchise. There are separate tools and web applications out there that do all of the stat tracking, player management, salary caps, etc. etc. These tools were written by young folks who got tired of the incomplete features.

So to make the point clear, there should NOT be two separate modes for franchise. There should simply be a franchise mode, with all of the bells and whistles. If you play in it with just yourself, then the cpu controls all of the other teams, like you do today and what you "offline" folks are clamoring for. However, if you have friends who want to join in, then they simply can sign into and you have a league. That simple. There is no offline or online. This is software engineering 101. WHen you separate the online franchise from the offline franchise, you are doubling your work as a development team. The reason being because in order to maintain the integrity of the two modes, when you make code changes to one, you need to make all of the same code changes to the other. There should be one single franchise mode that is always "online".

I go into the game, start a franchise. It allows me to do all of the things you guys are seeing. However, if I want it to be a league, I simply invite players or have people sign into my franchise. I get 25 or so friends and I have an online franchise league. If people quit or whatever, the cpu controls everything just like your current "offline" mode does today. I'm not sure, but I believe this is how NCAA's dynasty works. Don't quote me on that though.

Now if you have this single "franchise" mode, if you make any changes or additions, you only make the code changes ONCE. You don't need to waste development cycles changing the code in BOTH places, which is a maintenance nightmare. We've already heard it from this dev team a bunch of times how things "take a long time", or that are "really hard to do". Ok, that's fine, but why not consolidate the "modes" then?

I used to play online franchise.....too time consuming...too many quitting of other guys...schedules NEVER lining up....it became a chore, really.

I think more folks playing offline than online franchise...EA has data to prove that opinion

I'm glad they focused offline.....sorry to hear your bummed...it is what it is

I'm not going to argue with you on whether more people play offline or online. There are ways to get in online franchises that are legitimate and long term. The reason why it's a bit of a chore in some cases is because the feature is 50% complete. LIke i said, some folks have vision and can see things. Others can't because they just want what suits them. This is the mantra around here, "I don't care about online franchise because I only play offline", "I don't care about the physics engine because I just like the trading cards", etc. Whether or not you think online franchise is a big deal is irrelevant. There are a lot of online leagues. A lot. There will be even more if they can consolidate the two game modes into a single game mode. Lots of benefits to that.

Hi Adembroski,

Could a QB have a fumble prone roll or is just a tag for the running backs?

Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)

ALL i know is i cant stop reading the IGN blog on the way the new Franchise is gonna be like Any Given Sunday where ANYthing can happen week in and Out

it makes people actually think about using a Rookie out of the Gate especially a QB , RB or WR because if they Fumble , drop a Pass or throw a INT it will affect them from then on out , not like before where u didnt give a damn because there were NO consequences for playing Bad with a rook but now it can affect his whole build if you have some bad seasons

im glad they are bringing back the Roles from Madden 07 from the xbox and PS2 version of the game they are soo Fun and make it easier to see who u should go after in Trades and FA because u can fill your team with exactly what u need for any Situation , and i still play that game so im glad they are Fianlly putting it on a Nex Gen game for Madden

and yes i hope they Fix the OFFlinbe Franchise before going to Online , u gotta start at the beginning if you wanna have Success

IMO when the default 2012 Madden Roster come out AP shouldn't have the fumble role. He only fumble once all over last year..

VERY true i hate waiting for people to be Honest , i like playing anywhere from 2-6 games at a time in Franchise mode offline because i love to Build Franchise with almost all the teams whether its Rebuilding a team or taking a average or Playoff team and just building from what they already got
