I thought I posted a lot of detailed info to clear up your incorrect statements about True Aim from TW11 being essentially "exactly" the same in TW12. Go back and read my posts. Go load TW11 True Aim and hit some tee shots with draw or fade applied. And, load TW12, zoom out and apply some draw or fade. And then report back. Do the same in each game applying loft to shots.

I just don't understand how you come up with these types of statements making excuses for EA's game design and game play on the hardest difficulty levels in TW.

I agree with you about 11 being different in the regard above and I agree that these adjustments should NOT be in Tournament mode for TW12. Just fired up TW11 in TrueAim and I see what you are saying, so I agree with your statement that 11 and 12 are different in TrueAim in those respects. I am going to ask the TW12 Devs to restore TrueAim to what it was in TW11 for TW12 with a patch.

Lastly, I am defending EA for anything. I am defending my own personal opinion which last time I looked around here, personal opinions ARE welcomed and should NOT be subjected to unnecessary personal comments. We can continue to discuss this in a mature and rational manner if you can do so without the personal comments. If not, so be it.

I'm pretty sure that EA has heard loud and clear on thier boards how many people want the TW11 True Aim. If they haven't listened by now to the multiple complaints then I doubt they will be listening to anyone else. I know I complained personally there multiple times and didn't really get a response.

I'm suprised it took you until now to realize that true aim is markedly different from last year. The true aim getting an almost complete facelift was noted on this thread weeks ago. I'm pretty sure you were aware of the wholesale changes then. I remember being the 1st one freaking out quite a bit over it back on page 2 or 3 of this thread. There's no way my long post could have been missed since there was pages of discussion on it afterwards.

And a patch to restore TW11 true aim would have to be huge. You would need to overhaul completely the aiming design,institute club carrying distances and add elevation and yardage markers for every hole on all the courses. In essense what they took 8 months to change would have to be changed back within weeks from the source code.

Not to mention the caddie appears hard coded (which would be very difficult to eliminate if it's part of the source code) into the game so it would have to be totally and permanently disabled for everyone on tourney mode and I doubt EA will take out the OPTION of having a caddie in the tourney mode for some gamers.

I know enough about programming that there is about a 1% chance of that happening. The best anyone can hope for is a patch for having the option of disabling the caddie box which right now I would say is 50-50 at best.

So after giving it another try today, I have to say it is just dorked. So you can disable the Caddy, but the caddy suggestions stay on the bottom of the screen, allowing you to bring them up anytime you want. And if you use them, they are almost fool-proof, even in Tournament mode.

Even if you don't use them, you have the club and % staring at you. You have to select it to get the loft and fade or draw information. And even if the Caddy is disabled, all you have to do is press LB to bring him up.

Exactly how does that make competitive play even possible if you view the Caddy info as a huge cheat?

And the aiming and zooming of the view is just dumb. I had a worse time trying to play without the aids than just whacking the ball on TourPro. The problem is that the Caddy stuff is so intrusive, that you can't just make it go away. You have to force yourself to avoid it all the time.

Sadly, I expect this game to review super well, and sell better than TW 11. It looks purty, and the Caddy seems like an innovation. I'm afraid TrueAim is dead, Jim...

And it annoys the heck out of me that you can access "TrueAim" view if you use TourPro, but what you get are landing circles. Seriously, the devs just blew it. I don't care that they created and installed this Caddy system. It's the elimination of TrueAim that is the real kick in the junk.

So after a second try using the suggestions from Divot, I'm not only going to save $60 plus whatever I would spend on courses, but I will even save the $7 from Blockbuster to rent the game. We'll see what they do for TW 13. But I can't waste my time trying force myself to like what they have done here when there are so many other good games to play right now.

Looks like it is Shift 2 next week.

1st review of the game, gives it a 9\10 but it's kinda brief and this reviewer sounds like an arcade player because he likes the caddie doing the thinking for him and aiming for the shooting % that the caddie suggests.
