I played more TW11 then any golf game ever, and this was because of the true aim feature. The demo didnt seem to let me do this though. I have pre-orded the game because the career mode had me sold, but if I cant play TW12 with true aim exactly like in TW11, I will cancel the order.

No, i make NO assumptions seeing as how I am a Moderator for the TW forums....the forum software is poor, but if you posted what you said you did without violating TOS, then it should still be viewable.

Of course in the 2nd paragraph he says make your decision "once you get the game". I'm responding to that with my wallet and that's a big fat "NO".
No, again you are mistaken. Oblong is a Moderator and not an EA employee. He posted his own personal comments and opinions which he is free to post just as you are. There is a thread there started by Smirnoff Blue regarding the aiming and elevations and caddy that indicates he is starting to understand the design decisions and how the features work. I also agree with him that the caddy needs to be user-selectable and the rumble should be turned off in TOURNAMENT mode.

If not, don't you think a dev would have been quick to say something like "fear not guys, you can completely disable the caddie and enable pin distances in true-aim in the full game." I mean why continue to let your community get all worked up if the retail version solves the issues? There silence tells us all we need to know.
That's just it. The game is going to be out in a short time and they are not going to delay it. We can provide all the feedback they want, but it isn't going to change the game.

I don't know who they were listening to on this. I thought true aim was really well received by the hardcore crowd, and of course the casuals could just turn it off.

I have not read through every comment, but I am wondering if Augusta National is involved here.... you can use our course, but figure out a way to get the caddie ( with the all white coveralls) into the game or you cant use it. I mean they want to make this game as authentic as possible, so no caddie takes away from the realism. Maybe true aim and a caddie do not work together, so they had to scrap it for license. Just a thought, hopefully we can use true aim and this post ends up vain.

They could have easily given us a realistic caddy who suggests a shot.

Now, we can't pick a club or aim a shot.

A little confused by this comment. Thats exactly what they give us: a caddy who suggests a shot? You can switch clubs with L2 or R2 (dont recall which button positively, as im not at home), and you can aim by cycling to custom or by selecting caddy shot, pressing R1 and then moving the camera to where you wanna hit it with one of the analogs. It then becomes your custom shot option. I was doing this when i played the demo the other day, as i clubbed down on my own to leave myself a full swing wedge. Hope this helps, wish i was playing right now to confirm exactly the buttons i used.

I really wish the EA devs would consult with the old Links devs so they could get an idea of how videogame golf should be.
