I don't find anything too suspect in your conclusion, Swaldo...that is, unless Sandoval was running!

Speaking of Sandoval, and in all fairness to the improvements, I hit a really weak ball to him last night. He was chugging along, and came nowhere close to it...as the ball crawled right past him into LF.

Last year, there is no way he doesn't field that ball cleanly.

Though the system may not be perfect, the improvements to fielder ratings are incredible this time around.

And Nemesis makes a great point on Beltre. He's no slouch at third. That play MAY be another story, but all in all, I'm satisfied with 11's improvements this far.

I just wanted to mention that Sandoval is one of the faster big guys out there. In fact, he has a small guy swagger to him for such a big guy that there's almost a sense of irony to his style of play. He might not have the quickest feet, but he can pick it up from first to third pretty well.

Throw Bengie Molina in this conversation and you have yourself a fair example.

I just remembered that a pitchers MPH is measured as soon as it leaves the hand. According to the book "The physics of baseball" a ball loses speed at the rate of about 1 mph every 7 feet.

That being the case if someone clocked Beltre with a gun in that image he probably threw it at 75mph with the ending speed around 53mph. That's a hell of a throw! I'd say it's possible but not likely, and the accuracy would have to be off, especially considering the wind.

75 mph is full blown fastball for me (at my old age)

I'd say it's possible, especially for Beltre who has a cannon. I'd say it's a problem if it was always accurate which we can't say from one example.

They don't call Third Baseman, "Magicians" for nothing.

Nice comeback. I submit to your wisdom. I play the demo again and man AT&T Park looks great. The animation feels more smoother to, if that is even possible. I notice that the ball physics are better too. And wow the jersey textures are simply amazing.

Just figured out that I HAD to choose either contact or power to be succesful at the plate! :P Feel dumb...but I have been getting some good hits now due to hit. Kinsler is awesome in this game which is weird due to how much he is an all or nothing swinger. Hvaing a blast and really, the demo takes away from what the retail will ultimately deliver.
