It's not a final judgment, just disappointment. A lot of us were hoping to like the demo a lot more than we did.
Actually, most of the "complaints" aren't analog hitting, and I've been reading the whole stinkin' thread. Many of the "complaints" are about the crowd behind homeplate (demo from December), graphics and sound (demo from December), or commentary. Many are being "challenged" by analog hitting, and that's not a bad thing. That's not a game flaw. That just means everyone needs to get their rear ends in the batting cage when the game comes out.

Have you starting using contact swing once you get to two strikes? It can help you fight off tough strikes or even foul off some balls out of the zone if you chase. Good way to stay alive until you get a pitch you can put in play.

Please refrain from snarky name-calling. Thank you.

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Analog hitting is impossible for me. The pitch speed feels a lot faster than last year for some reason. I just can't get the timing down between having to step back, read the pitch and then push forward ... and then either L or R depending on where the pitch is. It's too much in too little time for me to execute properly.

I'll probably just have to go back to the old way of hitting, which is a shame b/c I wanted Analog to work but it's clear I don't have the reflexes for it.

Try veteran. It helped me a little bit not much though may have to go even lower. I actually tried the buttons this morning honestly prefer the analog.

Going down to veteran and changing the view to catcher 4 helped me alot. I still only had 2 hits, but i put the ball in play alot more.

Good call on contact swing, I think that may be one of those "little" things that ends up making a big impact on gameplay. I've found it very helpful with two strikes, and I even hit a beautiful little flair for a basehit.

You really need to go down a level or even to rookie and work your way up to get accustomed to the system. When I was first introduced to the new hitting I took that advice and worked my way up. From there I climbed the ladder all the way up to HOF and Legend.
