The scoring system is my only real gripe with the demo. That and the fact that the developers seem to worship at the Church of Ali.

I have gotten 10/10 rounds so I can see it happening.

I hope they don't pull an NCAA 11 and over tune the game. I hope while they are tuning they don't only consider online players and tune the offline A.I. as well.

After reading a bunch of impressions, I got a chance to play the demo...and my verdict is the game is a lot better than I thought it would be.

Pros:
Game looks better, more realistic animations.
You no longer fight on a 2D plane...you can end up on left or right side of the screen.
Recovery between rounds...point system was dumb
While not perfect, it's easier to evade
Blocking system is cool (just don't stand in one spot...MOVE!)

Cons:
You can still trade punches with no consequence
Flash KOs are too random
Ali is God
Too hard to clinch
Illegal blows still here
Presentation and Commentary sucks

I know I had more negatives than positives, but this game is a lot more fun than FN4. There seems to be some semblance of strategy as opposed to FN4. I actually beat an online opponent with Cotto (he had Pac Man) by using the jab and moving out the way.

Some of my gripes seem like they can be fixed with ratings and sliders, so things I would like to see in the next incarnation:

Do away with illegal blows! There were some instances where me and my opponent both lunged at each other. That is an instance where an accidental headbutt could occur. As for low blows, that could happen randomly during close exchanges to the body.

Clinching should matter! When fighting inside, that should turn into a clinch opportunity where the ref should break it up. Some fighters like Mayweather use clinching as a way of not letting his opponent get off. In FNC and previous versions, clinching is only to save yourself from getting KO'ed.

Presentation needs an overhaul! Commentary is mediocre at best, your cornermen are random, and the decisions have no drama to them. They should have a split screen when announcing the decision where you see the fighter's reaction. I don't like the cutscenes and replays during a knockdown/KO. Everything needs to be real time. Speaking of KOs/knockdowns...

KOs/Knockdowns need an overhaul as well!
While it's cool that they have flash KOs...they are very rare. I don't like that the ref doesn't at least give you a chance to get up. Only sometimes (like in the Martinez/Williams) fight does the ref not attempt to count. There should be a variance on the type of knock downs. Some knockdowns hurt where you struggle to your feet (if you can at all), while others are merely caused my momentum and you're not even hurt. I don't like that every successive knockdown is more difficult to get up...the way you get hit should matter. The "get up" game needs to be changed. Maybe taking a page from Prizefighter, in which you take a knee to gather yourself before you get up.

If they fix those 4 things, we can finally have a realistic boxing sim.

I'll throw in a con-I'm not crazy about this camera angle.

I am a big fan of the new camera angle. Hopefully there will be other options for those who don't like it, but I think it's way better than any camera options in FN4. What makes this new angle possible if the ref. Without a ref in the ring, you can't really take the camera out of the ring, it would look weird w no ref there.

I'm ok with the blocking, and I'm even ok with the footwork (kinda), but they have to make a fighter pay for throwing 400+ punches in a three round period. I don't care if you are landing them or not, you can not allow that insane amount of punches, over an accelerated 3 minute period without the fighter being exhausted.

Right now that's my biggest issue with the demo.

This, the camera and the scoring are my biggest issues right now. I'd also prefer the footwork to be faster but it is what it is at this point.

I think the issue with the stamina right now is that it's recharging too quick. I've visually seen it take effect and watched as a guy would throw a 10 punch combo that hit nothing but air and seen his arms slow down, but to me it's seemed like it only takes a few seconds for him to regain that energy and be just as effective with his punches again.
