It was posted by a dev on this board a long while ago. I'll see if I can dig up the thread, but it was definitely posted.

With this option turned ON, as the name implies, your timing release will be factored in to your shot %. It's layered on top of the player's Shot Rating, type of shot taken (jumper, drifter, leaner, etc), defense impact, etc. Being really late or really early on your release will have negative impact, and being perfect on your release will give you an added boost in making the shot.

Real Player %
When you turn this ON, it's basically ignoring your release on the Shotstick completely. You won't get penalized for early or late releases. The same factors come into play as mentioned above, sans the stick release bonus/penalty. Pretty much how Real FT % works. We simply migrated the feature over to all the shots as well.

Is it necessary to do the whole "delete player progression file" thing that I've heard about? What does *not* doing this bring about as a circumstance? And for anyone who'd done this: wanna walk a PS3 user through how to do it?

Shot release is weird now post patch. Some players have too early or too late releases. I went into practice mode with the Lakers. Kobe has super early release, I have to let the shot stick go immediately when his feet are off the ground. If I release at the top of the jump, the ball barely touches the rim. These supposedly bad releases with red indictors still go in though randomly.

I've never had issues with games disconnecting but after downloading the most recent patch, I've played 5-6 games in a row where it disconnected in the first 2-3 mins.

Anyone else having this issue?

@hotdoggin7687

Your not the only one bro. I've been having issues with disconnections from the 2kserver since downloading the patch. And I'm having a difficult time connecting to the Playstation store as well since I got the patch, but I'm not sure if it's related to the patch....

After givin' the patch a shot, I wish there was a way to revert back to the earlier 1.1 patch...Would be interested to see how Rashidi's synergy rosters would play out....

The dunks were toned down a little too much. My main reason for choosing the Clippers in Association was so I could dunk on everybody with Griffin. Now he goes for a layup even when there's no contact just because a defender happens to be within a couple feet. I could raise the attempt dunks tendency slider but then guys who shouldn't be dunking in some cases will try to anyway. I hope this change wasn't made because of people cheesing online. They'll just find another way to do it and what was meant to be a fix broke something else.

Also, as I understand it the coaching carousel problem was fixed wasn't it? What about coaches getting fired too early in the season? I saw a coach fired on Nov. 9! I can't imagine a team giving up that soon. So I reloaded the file then simmed a couple weeks and it happened about 7 or 8 more times in a row. It wasn't even the same coach every time either.

There's two things 2K needs to blatantly rip off from other sports games. A confidence meter for the Coach and GM where they have to meet certain goals throughout their contract or else they get fired. Also, the ability to carry pre-existing injuries into an Association. I'm not really talking about minor injuries that have occurred during this season but major ones where you already knew a guy was going to miss a significant amount of time or even the whole season before this season even started.

It does not say on that thread that player shot rating matter.

But the bottom line is that he stated with shot stick on. It is layered on the ratings which means even perfect with a bad shooter does not mean somebody here should throw a controller because of all of their shots miss.

The dude said now all his jumpers go in and he is happy. How is that sim
