This game is too damn good now. This thing's got me up til 4AM post-patch, I never do that with any video game anymore.

Just had the most ridiculous double OT '95 Knicks @ '95 Bulls game, pulled off the hard fought win on the road despite MJ heroics in regulation and the first OT. This game is heavenly now, I don't have a single complaint with it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm okay here's my take on the patch updates:

I just finished an association game with the Charlotte Bobcats vs the Orlando Magic year 2 of the franchise.

My immediate takeaway is that the game seems MUCH EASIER. Your players have much more responsive control, allowing your offense to flow more efficiently, fast breaks to actually work, and reaction time upped to the point of forcing 7 TO's from CP3....hmmmm.

Also, the game seems much FASTER. I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but it seems like everyone moves around the court with more quickness. I traded for Jason Thompson, and before the patch, getting his slow *** up the court took some work. Now, he hustles up the court in no time. DJ Augustin is a friggin BLUR now.

Along with the players running faster, I feel like the pace is quicker as well. More fast breaks occur (which is nice, because you can ACTUALLY RUN A FAST BREAK NOW) and the CPU seems to get shots off much earlier in the shotclock...they don't get stuck in inane dribbling animations as much...actually, the CPU offense seems to overall move with more purpose. I was very pleased to see this. The CPU was more efficient and properly aggressive...although they turned the ball over 9 more times than I did...not too happy about this.

AND SWEET MERCIFUL BABY JESUS, 2k now allows you to skip past the substitution overlays!!!!!!! I feel like this shaves 15 minutes off the friggin length of the game. So happy they decided to do this.

The little things:

- When behind the backboard, players actually arc the ball over it to prevent it from slamming against the side...hit a sweet fallaway J over the backboard with my rookie SG in the game...and saw the CPU doing this as well. NICE.
- No more high-arcing layups. Layups are MUCH more realistic.
- The bumping animations have been improved. I feel like 2k reached a nice compromise. You're gonna get bumped out on the perimeter, but now there's an included animation available where your player will fight to curl his way around the defender. This is awesome, and balances the dynamic.
- Players are ready to catch and shoot 2x faster it seems like. The whole drive N dish dynamic has been improved IMO. I was driving with DJ and kicking like there was no tomorrow. Players are in much better position to quickly assume their shooting motions...love it.
- YOU CAN TAKE CHARGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although there was a few times I was blatantly setup to take it, and the CPU ran into me anyways. Haven't seen the CPU try to take a charge yet, though.
- There seems to be a drastic reduction in fouls called...play around the rim is more physical, and I saw some new animations in the paint, including my big man trying to shove Dwight Howard when he did a power move for a dunk. But, there were almost NO fouls called throughout the course of the game. Hmmmm.

So that's what I takeaway from the patch after the 1st game. All in all, the game just seems easier. The CPU turns the ball over way too much, and I feel like the majority of the changes aid the player. I'm going to have to upgrade to Superstar because Allstar seems WAY too easy now.

I'm excited by the new pace of the game, and how the canimations seems to have been greatly improved. The game just flat out plays smoother and faster, and when I find an adequate difficulty level with the right settings for fouls being called, I'll be in VIDJA GAME BLISS.

Thanks 2k.

What settings are you rolling with ehh?

I was using Pro/Sim, 12 minute quarters but couldn't get anywhere near realistic scores (too low) in my 2 games for some reason.

"-PlayVision art is now drawn on the floor when the CPU calls a play, easily enabling the user to follow the action on the court."

About time. Completely changes the way you play MyPlayer now.

I'm on All-Star with quickness and vertical at zero and the usual shooting sliders, 46/46/48/46 I believe (inside, close, 3, layups) for hum and cpu. Everything else is default.

The CPU is a million times better in terms of their IQ and the variety of play you see from them. Things were starting to get very bland and repetitive to me after nearly two months with the game pre-patch. Just seeming much smarter, more aggressive and less robotic behavior from them.

The new charging/blocking changes the game a ton. Finally a game has players attempting to draw charges on the regular. It needs to happen even more often but at least there's a starting point.

havent looked through this entire thread but has anyone noticed that on certain contact animations that aren't in the paint, the ball speeds to the basket like a bullet? like it has been shot out of a grenade launcher not a basketball player's hand? lol it doesnt really matter and doesnt make my experience any less enjoyable, just wondering if anyone else had noticed

hey mate, are you aware that if you go below 35 quickness the ability to change shot mid air, disappears???

I'm going to up the shooting to what you use as they are pretty darn low on the default all star which makes for baaaad %
