Played this again last night, and still having a great time. I find myself just firing the game up to turn laps, and practice. I have the tire mod, the lighting mod, and new car texture mods for the pc, and this game is just a beautiful thing in motion.......... Once they drop the patch, I will start to dive into the career mode.

Fantastic. Scored my first points last night. It took 7 racing into the season but finally at the Turkish GP I managed to qualify 10th in the Virgin.

This was the first Q3 I had made it to and wasn't thinking about tires. I ran my options down raw and then realized I had to start on those things. I made an early pit to take on primes. During the race I got ahead of Hamilton and with my tires running into the yellow he really got close in the last few laps. He was pressing me hard but could never close the deal because I was faster in S2 and could open the gap back up. Finished in 9th and must say it was better than the million of Forza career wins I have.

I love how the AI drive in this game. They don't seem blind to your presence and typically make good moves to overtake. It even seems like they each have a little bit of their own personality.

Having the AI Difficulty set to Legend makes this game awesome. I didn't want to be scoring points as a Lotus in their first season, that isn't right. So now my objective is to beat Trulli (Team Mate) and finish ahead of the 3 new teams. I love it!

The "complainers" are just wanting a product that lives up to the pre release billing. Nothing more. The "complainers" are likely to be F1 enthusiasts who cannot look past some of the bugs that detract from the game. They, we, aren't haters, we just want Code Masters to deliver on their promise to F1 fans.

I have been racing F1 games since the mid 90's. I am more of a CART guy unfortunately that series is dead (thanks Mr George). Yes there are bugs but this is the best driving model I have raced on any console I have ever had in relation to running lap times that are equivalent to the real times.

I have never been a franchise/career mode guy. I hate them in all sports games because they all stink. I just like gameplay and when it comes to racing games the driving model. When you turn all the assists off and go out there and run some laps the driving model really shines. Great job Codemasters!

I literally spent 3 straight hours running and changing my setup for Sakhir. That has been the first time I spent that many hours tuning a car since NASCAR racing 2003 and F1 challenge mod - Ralph Hummerich 2003 and 2005. Those were PC games. I never thought I would have to do that for a Console racer.

Did you do this for the first race of the career Sakhir? I'm thinking also of having to put some time in to get the car dialed in right before I race the real race but I thought I was being dumb or something. I guess the question I have is how is this game designed to be approached? Do they really want us to spend alot of time before the actual races or is that just more for show?

Yeah that was the first track. However I love running laps by myself tuning my car to get the fastest lap possible with the best car control possible for every corner.

This is what I would do for online play. I was primarily an online racer for many years and if you wanted to keep a reputation for being a good clean (no little mistakes that wreck the field) winning online driver, you had to practice and make your car not only fast but stable in every corner. Whether it be NASCAR or F1. The only way to get to that point is with lots of practice. For offline racing this is really not needed. I was in a lot of competitive leagues against guys who were very good and put in the same amount of time.

I think the assists allow you to play the game any way you want without having to put in a lot of work and time into it while still allowing others who enjoy doing so a racing model that offers that level of difficulty to actually have to master.

I actually didnt see myself doing practice for more than few laps just to learn the track ( started career on short race weekend ).....after the first week I realized I better start learning how to tune my car and one hour wasnt gonna be enough practice time for me to do that....so I switched to full race weekend, and I actually have a lot of fun grinding out laps in practice and working on my setup.....it really feels rewarding to get a point finish when you work so hard on your setup during practice. This is literally the first racing game i've played where i dont wanna spike my controller if i dont win the race....haha

I was planning to get this on release day but did not, i started reading the forums and i am now thinking twice.
