I OPENLY BLASTED THIS DAYS AGO.

I still think it's a work in progress, but I do need to share something rather extraordinary.

I've now showed both demos to 4 other people and ALL OF THEM preferred NBA Elite's graphics over 2K11. Really. I have to actually agree here now. I put the camera on broadcast and the players are bigger and clearer, the courts and backgrounds more smooth as well. This is playing on a 52 inch plasma running 1080p.

I did not see that coming.

With the above being said, I still feel like players move like robots without ANY fluidity. Ugh, that's my biggest complaint. What was supposed to give us more control just might do that in the long run, but animation-wise, this game is a jittery, my-favorite-robot mess. And that really makes me mad... basketball's fluidity is VITAL to the magic and beauty of the sport.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

I think most of the people's problem or issues about the game including me area the controls. I am used to the old controls that the new control scheme frustrates me. The graphics is a concern too but i'm more into the gameplay and how fun is it to play.

Last night as i was playing/practicing, my daughter (8yr old) asked if she can try and play. I was like sure go ahead, we can try the 1 on 1 practice mode for the fun of it. I told her left stick to move and right stick to shoot and steal the ball. What amazed me was she picked it up real quick, even stole the ball from my player, go for a dunk, crossovers etc. she did have a hard time with timing the release of the jump shots though. She made me laugh when she asked to try the 5 on 5 game and she'll be the Lakers! But overall i'm thinking, here is my daughter, who only knows how to play LBP (Little Big Planet) and does not really play a lot of NBA game or a lot of experience be able to control and even see that she also enjoys the game and controls?

I was thinking maybe i'm over thinking stuff and just got used to the previous games. I was at the fence most of the time, one day liked it, the next day furious and ready to give up. I tried the game again with open mind, and now i'm enjoying it..seriously. A few nights ago, i was playing and one game didn't even score or maybe scored only 2 points, now learning the game and paying more attention to details (making sure the ball is on the defensive side when using the pick, if not it will be stolen, use of 'cuts' wow!, playcalling, trying to steal the ball most of the time will get you burned, using the lowpost moves, loving the L1 button) i can now easily defeat the computer in superstar. There are times the games are close and really feel good when Kobe or Pierce hit the game winner. The elite demo really is starting to "grow" on me and would love to get the full game.

If this is the only game out there, i'm pretty sure i will be enjoying this version on NBA Elite this year, but seeing that there is another game out there people won't have that open mind of trying something new and stick to something that feels safe. also, since MJ is on the cover i'm almost sure i'll be getting the game no matter what.

I've tried both demos so far and have found myself playing the Elite more.

My only other problem now is that my 3 year old son wants to join in the fun and wants to take my controller.

Iv comee conclusion, that in order to get the CPU to play with any life on offense, superstar difficulty is the way to go.

I like the graphics, but if you're playing on a PS3 @ 1080p, it isn't 1080p. This demo doesn't upscale ( like most games ) to 1080p if you force that resolution. Instead, it downscales to 480p ( 720x480 ), so I'm assuming you're talking about the 360 version ?

LOL!

What took you so long?

I pointed this out days ago....this is the best level this year hands down.

Pro was very good last year but now it seems like Super Star is the only way to go IMO

what's wrong with Live 10 fast breaks? Try offball switch and control the players your self.

there's this guy online, played him a bunch of times and whenever he's on the break, it's almost automatic 2. i called him master of offball switching and to a point close to cheesing but it's not unstoppable. (well unless he uses the Cavs)

I've never really had the issue of graphics that many of you have voiced your displeasure about. I think it looks pretty good.
