I'm not impressed at all. I appreciate a step in a different direction, but it doesn't feel fluid. I spent time trying to learn the controls but the game still doesn't play authentically. There was a learning curve on 2K11, but it made me want to learn it. I couldn't wait to put this down.

I could go on... but the one thing tying them all in is that defensive stance. CPU offensive players have difficulty getting around their defenders off the ball... even when a play is running.
All issues that could be fixed with a patch possibly??? I did notice the going in and out of defensive stances myself..but this is EA they patch everything, except for NCAA 10 there best basketball game of the current gen systems IMO. I am not saying this game is going to be great out of the gates but if they take there time and do like natural motion did with Backbreaker and release a patch that equals the quality of backbreakers this could be a very good game...in year 1 of a three year plan for Elite.

While I agree that the wii is the real retail game... Let's be honest....the 3 modes they are giving us plus online plus HD graphics equals better version!

Debating whether the graphics are good or not is irrelevant to me because there are far deeper problems with this game than simply visual appeal.

Are you guys playing this on the 360? And is the 360 really that different from the PS3 (which I'm playing)? I have to disagree wholeheartedly with you here. Graphics is the sum of a lot of different things. Sure the player faces aren't bad, but the lighting is so dark and dull that it does them no justice.

The lighting combined with the SUPER SKINNY and non-individualised player models do not (IMO) equate to anything positive. Definitely regressed from last year if not the whole next-gen cycle.

The difference is not jaw-droppingly different but it's quite noticeable trust me...If you have the opportunity to see the 360 version for yourself please do so...

That's where the gameplay fails bigtime. The game is trying to do everything it did well last year but it is struggling within the confines of the new tech. implemented.

They needed more time and more testing/feedback from guys that see this stuff. There's no excuse for the 5 on 5 gameplay to be where it is after last year.

I agree with you on the controls. Lots of guys are not taking the time. I see scenarios where they rush through and just go straight to the 5 on 5. But this is what people want - an NBA simulation.

The way players move now is just... horrid.
This. (in bold) On the mark Pared. Agree fully with you on this.

I also believe whereas the controls would maybe take time to get used to it's still made to be played from the north south camera to REALLY get a feel for the game. Even the tutorial felt good at first but then in broadcast it fell apart because your not going forward say..

I got more joy out of throwing together a string of juke's with Rondo and watching D-Fish fall on his *** as I busted his ankles and then blew by him for a layup, then I have in any other B-ball game before...and why? because I had to work for it, I had to set him up, then take advantage when I had him in position, JUST LIKE IN REAL BASKETBALL. Thats why this game is good now and in three years could be what we all want in a basketball game. thats just my opinion though.
this guy right here knows what he is talking about! this game makes u work! this is a demo. if i'm not mistaken, alot of people were complaining about the visuals of live 10's demo last year. this year shouldnt be any different, they will fix the visuals. ea has always been great with jerseys and such. their jerseys always fit to the body and flow from the body, instead of looking like cardboard. so the stuff in the demo will be fixed. this game is for us teamplayers! we wanted control and we have it. i am psyched. there is no need for the cpu to be "life-like" now that we control every move.

i dont know if every1 noticed but u have to change the ball into the appropiate hand each time u go a different direction. if ur back is turned to the basket in the paint, u have to actually turn around or move ur guy towards the rim. u dont magically turn or animate towards it.

cant wait for some great competitive teamplay games. if people would be patient and get the controls down, it could be alot of fun.

Your are right in 3 years this game could be unbelievable, but right now its far from it. You can see where they are trying to go with it but right now it looks like an unfinished product and I am not going to pay $60 for a game that clearly needs more work, especially when the competition has a pretty good product coming out. I'm not trying to mimic what MMChirsS said in his blog but he hit the nail on the head. You can't fault the developers because they were trying to put out the best product they could with the time they had but there just wasn't enough time for everything they wanted to do. I think EA would have should have either stuck with what they had in Live 10 and just improved on that or just take a year off and just put work into really incorporating and polishing the physics and controls. With the right animations this game will feel and look great but there probably didn't have enough time this year to put a lot of work into the animations. I understand why some people are supporting this game because it shows a lot of potential but this year it is not the best basketball game on the market.
