Re: NBA 2K11: Starting Five Roster Ratings

Nice way to back me up K-Dub. Thank you.

Jr.,

You have to remember how the overall ratings work. You cannot just say that Tim Duncan should only be 1-2 points higher than Dirk Nowitski. The overall rating factors in skills that are relative to that position. If you look at skills relative to the PF position, then the comparison between the two is not close.

If we are talking about their dominance or their importance to the league, then you would have a case. But you have to remember that the overall ratings do not work that way.

i'm sorry, but Gasol should be rated higher than Tim Duncan, Duncan's time has passed Gasol dominates Duncan and is more consistent now. Look at Gasol's playoff numbers, he is the most consistent player on that Lakers team. Carmelo Anthony is not better than Kevin Durant or Pau Gasol Either...Joe Johnson shouldn't even be close to Kevin Durant, and is not nearly on Gasol's level either. Hopefully I don't see Magic ****in Johnson with the 89 overall again, whoever gave him that rating don't know anything about basketball back then.

Certain qualities weigh a little more heavily when the game calculates overall rating. The categories I named are the main categories for power forward players. Dirk Nowitski's skill are not reflective of his overall rating, but he can shoot the hell out of the ball. If he cannot shoot in 2K then I will complains.

Strength is not a stat you are correct but we know that Dirk is lacking in that department. Not a "power" forward
That's cool man...agree to disagree. I can tell you don't watch alot of basketball because if you did you would see Dirk killing all of the "power" forwards in the game. Next debate...

DropSeven,

Dirk is still not a player that would have a high strength rating. Dirk does kill players but he isn't strong.

Duncan's still right there with Gasol. If this was the end of the 2011 season I'd agree though. Tim is still a better defender (one of the best in the league STILL) and his offensive skills are still there as well, though he's no longer as good as Gasol in that area. The numbers to look at though is MPG. Gasol plays 6 more minutes per game than Duncan. I'm sure the stamina rating reflects that.

The ratings don't mean that much. Noah is probably a 73 because he doesn't have a high mid/3pt shot etc..but he is a beast on the boards and defense.
