The more I play, the more I notice that each possession is different, in regards to CPU defender intensity. Some plays, I can do all sorts of fancy stuff with Kobe as the defender is back a bit and there is no contact disrupting my flow. Other times, it's just not meant to be, with a defender crowding me, preventing some movements.

MC, I noticed that kobe mix is taken from a couple games/maybe a dozen. Im guessing you tried other Kobe moves without much success as you were filming for the mix? People get the impression that you can do that every time down. But its a highlight tape. Am I wrong?

Maybe it's not the control some people want, but in some sense, it's feeling more realistic than ever. Should Kobe always be able to get off a double size up right cross over left move? Or in some regards, is it situation specific?

Do users want ultimate freedom of control and then complain when there allowed to do it, or how it appears 2k11 has done contact/control.

With no contact, people complain moves are too easy
With contact, people complain the moves aren't consistent

As always I could be looking too much into it
You can't please everyone. What I've been trying to do is learn the moves to just get a feel for things. People forget that good basketball means you attack one-on-one from:

1. Pick and Rolls
2. Triple Threat/Post-Ups
3. Open Court.

Dancing around doing size-ups and trying to cross over/drive all the time isn't how basketball SHOULD be played. This is why I like the balance 2K11 is offering. It will work sometimes, but if that's the only way you try to "take" someone, it shouldn't work consistently. I suggest people spend more time trying to learn how to attack out of the triple threat. It is way more effective to drive this way than doing size-ups/crossovers.

Loving the demo, especially please with the graphical upgrade. Only thing thats unimpressive to me is the IsoMotion. They'se said all along that this year is " ALL-NEW Isomotion". But i see no difference at all from last years game. Has anyone figured out what so new about it?

How do you perform up and under moves? The shot modifier, what's it's purose? Lastly, I know the insight said the same moves can now be accomplished with both the stick and the button, but is there a significantly huge difference?

then release the trigger or L2 and move the stick up. down. left. or right to get different shot/layup animations.

the key is timing or else u'll just get a pump fake, a fake pass, or a misdirection with no shot after

but u'll get the hang of it with kobe.

of course its only the demo so we cant use players tht would b great with this like derrick rose, and chris paul but wen u start to get the hang of how the shot modifier/dribble modifier(left trigger or L2 lol) really works its some crazy inovation. the possibility is almost endless...regular layups. up. down. left. right. (w/no turbo) or (w/turbo). or add the (shot modifier) with the trigger and get a completely different variety of layups WITH flare @ ur disposal. not to mention u still need speed to dunk so pressing (turbo w/shot modifier) still gives u dunks AND/OR! layups depending on the player, his position on the court, which way you move the stick AND/OR! the situation.

and this is jus the demo but once u start gettin the hang of knowing wen to execute the moves i thnk u'll enjoy the control u have.

try givin the ball 2 kobe every time down the court and wait for space to clear. give a couple jab steps with the modifier to create space to drive with kobe. and while still holding the trigger with no turbo flick the stick the direction u want to fake except down of course becuz wht sense would a down fake make (lol u can really flick down for a pump fake animation tho) then like i said before finish out the shot animation by letting the modifier go and moving the stick in another direction. i thnk u can use turbo as well but i say lay off the turbo until u can clearly see its time to use it becuz it cause more contact in the paint area. without turbo u'll atempt a layup or shot(the shots out of the fakes with kobe are ridiculous. looks just like him in the demo) with it its like trying to dunk bcuz thts wht the command is telling the system regardless of the situation (2k gives u control) so only use turbo wen u clearly have the advantage to use it other wise its a waste of energy (not sure if u can use the modifier for the fake AND for the finish yet. havnt been able to get that timing down but im sure u can if u let it go.) works every time and i've seen a different animation every time it works. give it a try with kobe tho.

im gonna go try out some more moves. u can still hop step and hop spin on command with trianlge or y i thnk 2 so im gonna see wht those look like. not 2 mention the sig gathers. crazy control
ok thanks..I'll try it out when I get home and let you know how it turns out

Steve Blake came in instead -.-
I had one play where I took a charge with Fisher, and he falls to the ground. He gets up, looks fine at first, then starts clutching his chest. He does so for like 20 seconds (literally) and then motions like he's waving off a sub (like I'm alright, let me stay in), but he gets subbed out anyway. Nice little touch there. It would have been better if other players would have came over to see if he was okay though.

I was asking because yes, my guess was 2K wasn't alone in not anti-aliasing. That being said, my point wasn't to give you a hard time about it (I'll leave that to boilerbuz ). I just wanted to get an idea what the norm was.

You say the jaggies look worse on 2K's games. I'm curious, are you running the game in 720p or 1080(i or p)? If 1080, can I you try 720p? I know it is counter-intuitive, but I think the game actually runs natively at 720 and upscales to 1080, and I'm wondering if that is part of why it looks worse to you.
