I suck in 2k11 and still love the very few moves I can pull off.

I think this is our worst habit as "hardcore" gamers. We spend too much time analyzing and not enough time playing and enjoying. God forbid we start complaining about jaggies in Pacman reboots... It gets even worse when it comes to games that compete against your game of choice. I say there is no such thing. Every game borrows from one another. Every game compliments the next. Save for these exclusive licenses, I think this system works great.

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)

It is the single greatest basketball game I have ever laid my hands on.
It gets to the point where the control is so intricate with real life physics that you feel immersed as if you're really the player control wise, especially because the amount of weight each player holds feels different than another player.

I blew out computer almost every time .. lost about 2 games when computer went on some crazy runs .. sometimes their momentum builds big time and they really play like the Celtics other times u can just step all over the AI

I saw some of the most insane things in a b-ball video game in my life, Ray allen 360 alley oop layup ala JR smith...

Artest is a beast defensively.. he reads the passing lanes really well and he can strip most players with ease (although it is noted that the pro difficulty is probably making stealing easier).

I had some insane and1s with kobe falling down with different moves in the air.. variety of floaters both left and right handed while his body was contorting and twisting in various ways.. he's so dangerous out of any position now and it truly feels like you're using him to his full capabilities.. sig wise the game is so authentic.. 2k10 isn't even close to this..

I had been wishing for a slowed down game pace for a long time.. I always felt basketball games nowadays just felt like every player was running on roids/like a gazelle.. it finally has the pace/feel/speed of a real NBA game..

As others were saying around here.. iso motion is really just about setting up your defender and using L2/L1/R2 and the LS in a combination of ways to do so.. I find myself sometimes speeding down the side and into the corner only to stop go the other way.. have my defender catch up and then do a move back to base line and totally lose him (in this case Ray Allen)..

The way they catch passes is just incredible this year.. they tip the ball around and actually have to react to the defenders and where the ball is going to catch it properly... (I'm sure anyone that has played the demo so far has recognized this)..

The only minuscule thing I had a gripe with is the fact you can't fake a pass while driving inside (unless I'm not aware of it).. I think it would be great if you can throw the defense off with a fake pass.. go up for a shot.. and then throw a pass back with Rondo.. it would be the cause for many highlight reels.. but so far from what I've noticed your player just stops as soon as you fake a pass because they need to use both hands to do so (if anyone else saw otherwise let me know).

Lastly, one post move by Gasol really proved to me that 2k really nailed the body weight and feel of each individual player. No more arms/legs/bodies glitching through eachother.

Cpu tried to double Gasol and he did a step through by ducking inbetween both players while pushing KG's hip to his right with his right elbow out of the way and then laying it in with the left hand on the left block.. I had so many moments in this demo so far where I was just in total awe of how life like and similar it is to real basketball and I've been playing b-ball games since NBA Jam '93 on Game Gear.. I've gone through all the Lives/2k's/Inside drives.. and this is just a phenomenal product.. I'm going to have a hard time not playing this in the winter here in Canada..

I hope the rest of you enjoy it as much as I did.

I'm simply amazed by some of the things I'm able to pull off in this game. I have a feeling this will be the greatest basketball game of all time, I have never had so much fun playing basketball on both ends in a video game.

I like how the ball doesn't feel magnetic. From the steals, blocks-- if the balls loose, it's loose.

I grabbed a rebound and tried to bullet a pass to Kobe, he didn't catch it with his hands, he kept slapping the ball with his hand to keep dribbling it. Very neat.

Something minor, I don't know if this happens in the previous 2ks, but I was trying to chase down Pierce, missed him and ran into the booth on the side of the court with Kobe. He braced his fall on it. Haha neaaat.

Now, it's just VC and I doubt their crew is the same as it was 9 or 10 years ago. I'm just sayin'..

I have my reasons for posting what I post and it isn't to take shots at 2K Sports or VC. I give a raw unbiased observation of what I experienced.
Well, I still have copies of MANY sports games. And I can safely say that the primary members of the VC team has stayed consistent throughout the years. BTW, Take Two and Sega only write the checks. VC is the technical and creative center of all of the NBA and NFL 2K games. Looking at the credits for NFL 2K3 and NBA 2K2 I see a good number of names in production, art, and engineering that cross reference NBA 2K10. So, you were saying?

I don't assume your motives, but it's been clear that you don't think much of VC. And nothing is wrong with that. That's your right.

I've played the demo several times and I have to say I love it! The fluid player movement and new jumpshots are a thing of beauty. My only complaint is the crowd noises on the PS3 version get very annoying real quick.

I look forward to starting an Association on Allstar/Sim difficulty.
