Damn I can't wait to get the full game because I have a whole lot of practicing to do.

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)

I love the crowd, the atmosphere.
like how passing to bigs on the run is harder, dynamic.
LOVE how guards (rondo) can add that lil extra float to just get it over my bigs for 2.
post passes are no longer a given, the a.i has awoke.
dribble moves are insane, cant wait to hit up practice mode. "practice?"
i liked kobe's socks lol. paul pierce attacked outside to mid range much like he would IrL, love his set shot animation, all the different momentum shots.
the game is harder, more realistic except its now fun again.
the only complaint i would have is that its more of a tease then a demo.

good job to 2k and all those who put in ideas/feedback and for 2k to accept the feedback to achieve all this, man..

I've been doing this for the last 2 hours, replicating the experiment with 90% identical results.

I'm searching for realistic results. I either get Rondo penetrating against Fisher/Gasol/Bynum all 3 in the lane and taking a horrid attempt. Or I see him penetrate and kick out to Kendricks who takes a 20 foot jump shot.

I'm not seeing improvements on the AI side, which has been my biggest problem to date with basketball games. I know its the hardest aspect to get perfect but I wanted to see strides made.

As far as play running is concerned, its been GREAT. But I want each A.I. player to make DECISIONS, not signature moves, but decisions that they would make in real life. I'm not seeing that AT ALL.

I am VERY impressed by the player movement in this demo...the dribbling and animations have been upgraded as well. Cannot wait for the final game.

Still there, but much improved.

Just DL'd it. Played about 3 games in a row and the points of emphasis go as such...

First the positives:

  • Controls are on point. Players do what you think they should do. Very intutitive. That is huge.
  • Great players play like great players, like Paul Pierce. I got lazy with Artest on purpose just to see what he'd do, and he lit me up. And players I don't like who are considered great by a majority are also annoyingly good, a la Kobe.
  • The game is so smooth. One action flows into the next like the mo cap sessions went down just in tune to what I wanted it to do.
  • Couple funny moments like Kobe pulling a great double clutch layup only for Perkins to come on the weakside and pin the ball against the backboard. Didn't looked canned at all. And since I ha-dislike Kobe, it was fun to see.
  • X-ing through scenes has a stat overlay so it's like there was a live edit or something instead of players randomly jumping around all of a sudden.
  • I love little graphical/animational (**** not a word) touches like the vague outline of the tucked in jersey in the shorts. Or seeing players step behind the 3pt line when receiving a pass.
Negatives

  • It's like a demo of a demo. One half would've been prime, so you can see more players come off the bench. So hard to gauge the flow of anything when it's over so quick.
  • Ray Allen looks weird still.
  • The brevity and complete lack of any plays encourages people to just spam Kobe to see all his moves. Takes away from the experience.
It's fun. It's much, much, much better than 2K10, but it's so bare bones, this only whets my appetite for 2K11. If that was 2K's goal in this, then mission accomplished.

I dont know which demo you're playing but I backed away from Rondo many times and I see him pull up a jumper not drive to the teeh of the defense...
