Just like with the quick vid of Bynum going behind the back and losing the ball same principle.
Oh its real basketball alright, but just not NBA basketball.

Might as well call it EA Sports Basketball 11 if this kind of craziness is involved.

Well the thing is that is not how it works in Elite, so already the game isn't living up to your idea of total control. Guys like Fisher and Nash will do layups period. Likewise, very few guys should be able to trigger a dunk from anywhere near the FT line and only with no one near them. This should be fixed.

When do you ever see nash or fisher even attempt to dunk? Theres a fine line between control and realism.

It seems like people have different views on control, for me control is being able to do what I want to when i want, but I should be limited to what that specific player is capable of doing and not doing unrealistic things or playing a style of ball that the specific play is not know for, it's hard to be considered sim if people are giving the ability to play too unrealistic.

but the underlying thinking is, you're limiting me as a user because I should be able to do anything I want to do no matter what it is

See where the disconnect begins?

Yeah I know that, its the implementation of the idea.. The idea of control itself is not wrong, but how one thinks it should be implemented.

so in other words you want to be able to have the choice to attempt a dunk from the FT line with Big Baby Davis because "its all about control"....like 23 said you might as well go play NBA jam which you have the option to do if you purchase this. Like i said i dont think many here watch NBA games just the highlights
