Presswithsafetyshad - in real life a MLB or a QB can make multiple changes simply with one set of voice commands. No one is saying they do that on every play (with Manning being the exception) but it's possible.

I guess it's one of the reasons I'm cool with it.

In real life they have a lot more defensive plays to choose from. I can't pick a Cover 2 with the line slanting right, I HAVE to change it at the line. If I want a creative zone blitz, or want to cancel a stunt and re-route the DE to a straight rush I HAVE to do it at the line.

If we had better defensive playbooks, we wouldn't have to make so many changes at the line.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

I've read every single post in this thread and compared to the NCAA demo impressions, wow what a difference in tone.

NCAA was full of people talking about how great the demo was with a few grumblings.

This thread seems to be mostly grumblings with a few people talking about how they enjoy the game, with hardly anyone talking about how great it is. The biggest compliment I'm seeing is the game is enjoyable or good. I wonder if this bodes ill for Madden sales this year. I know this is a small sampling but it held true for NCAA (reviews here were mostly positive and the game has outsold what EA expected) so you never know.

I think Madden is more of a lightning rod, ODogg. While NCAA, too, is the only thing on the market, GameBreaker, college FB 2k etc. never gained as much traction as their NFL counterparts

sorry, but the CPU cheating you and knowing your play all the time isnt the essance of football either.....and they do that on the higher levels where I like to play

And I disagree about the their not being tons of stuff going before the snap....Every Sunday during the Season....Opposing Qbs play "Where's Troy" and have to decipher the "Organized Chaos" from the Ravens.....not to mention all the dancing the Jets do before the snap

I said this in one of the other SP Discussions threads....Id be more willing to accept less user control if we were provided with a deep Defensive playbook that shows off the personality/flare of an NFL teams D

We are given very run of the mill and generic stuff to work with...The base playbook has very little soul to them at all.....and EA limited even further what life we can give to our Defensive Schemes with this SP

Each year for the past 5yrs I wait for Madden football and hope that the gameplay of the game is improved, each year I am dissapointed and continue to play 2k5 football. Th gameplay is what's important to me, untill that changes I will not play Madden.

They do groupings more than anything. They don't do individual callouts to 10players. Madden(and other games for that matter) has allowed gamers to get used to being able to do that, unfortunetly.
