I will NOT purchase this game for the first time since Madden 95 if STRATEGY PAD isn't removed via patch.

Talk about ONE THING that COMPLETELY ruins the experience. COMPLETELY.

I don't like it either, but really? Hitting the D-Pad instead of a button is a game killer?

Wow.

You can turn off the display but you can't change the functionality back to what it used to be. I'm really disappointed in the demo and will probably be skipping madden for the first time in over 10 years.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

Graphics are nice again but that's to be expected. Can't say anything about the audio, obviously they had to leave things out because it's a demo.

Gameplay felt similar to me as last years. So far I am preferring NCAA.

Locomotion seems smoother and less obvious than in NCAA which is good. Game feels more sluggish though. Not how fast players run etc, but responsiveness of controls feels slower too.

Don't like strategy pad. I kept pressing triangle to adjust the coverage but couldn't. Don't see why they changed it.

Gameplan feature doesn't seem very good to me. My issue with it is that at least by default it doesn't show the full play art on defense, only your own player. Because you aren't selecting the play, it should show you everyone's assignment. Don't know if it's in the options, but they should show the full play art by default like on NCAA. At least there you choose your own play so you have an idea of what everyone is doing, on Madden you don't choose your play so it's more important to see what the play call is.

Kicking is different obviously, but I don't know that it's better. It used to be easy on Madden to kick, once you get used to this system it will likely be almost as before.

Felt no real excitement playing the game, and will stick with NCAA this year. It's only a demo, but it's meant to be representative of the full game and I can't see spending $60 on the full version just to be disappointed.
