After playing a bunch more games it's official: the strategy pad was a very bad idea, and Gus Johnson is very annoying.

Curious is anyone knows this answer ...

Who the hell is Gus Johnson and what NFL network does he announce games for?

I've heard his voice in basketball, but not in Pro Football.

Does he do NFL games?

If not, why would EA hire him?

P.S.- about the demo ... I don't like how far back the camera goes on defense on pass plays. It's futher back than NCAA and almost impossible to defend the pass.

Gus does NFL games for CBS.

Most people here just have some crazy unrealistic expectations is ridiculous...If 2k and every other company were making football games like before EA had the licensece how much do you guys think they can actually continue to improve on a yearly game, you can only improve so much eventually nfl 2k10 would seem more and more like nfl 2k11 and nfl 2k11 like nfl 2k12 until theres a new console or something release and that isnt even a gimmie. Im a 2k fanboy no lie I grew up played all the nfl 2ks on the dreamcast and nfl 2k5 on xbox...Im not here to say oh madden had this many years to get this right and that 2ks technology and engine is better im just saying its impossible to continue to want drastic improvements on something that comes out ever year(AND just because a game releases doesnt mean you have to buy it).. say if madden 06 was the only madden until madden 11 this year everybody would be going crazy possibly saying its the best football game ever, but if its every year like it is some people need to just relax and just enjoy the game because its a game or not buy it at all.

can you please be specific and quote who are you referring to? This makes you no better then the people you are bashing. Did you play the demo?

for me personally, i don't think asking for what we've already had from the madden franchise is a 'crazy unrealistic' expectation. I've been more than optimistic and supportive over the years. This has been my first year coming to grips with the fact that we are getting a, for lack of a better word, lazy, entitled, and uninspired effort in madden 2011. I will play the full version before i say anything else but i don't think it's fair to compare this game to NCAA yet. it's a demo.

The strategy pad thing is really hampering my 'expectations' for now.

ALL I wanted was for them to get rid of the "Robo QB" logic....THATS IT. sigh....Demo is ok otherwise....just really dissapointed about the pass rush..

I want to start off by saying I totally understand your point. What with the NBA 2k series starting to blur together year after year. But I think your going about it wrong.

I think the issue many folks have with Madden/NCAA is that the improvements asked for take years to be implemented (sometimes not at all) and we are constantly given things we NEVER asked for. There's that, and things from past gen getting shafted from this gen that eventually get passed off as new (see Locomotion).
