For those that will waiting for V4. Just to reiterate what Ive said in the past, weekends absolutely suck for me as far as getting a good block of time to work on my PS3. This weekend Im pretty much committed to family duties. Its why I was secretly hoping for an early week release of V3 cause weekday evenings are better for me to commit a good amount of time LOL. If V3 comes tommorrow night, I can get some stuff in on Friday. If it comes on Friday, I probably wont really get going until Monday. Also as stated before, its gonna take a week give or take a day or two in total. After all the entries off to ThirdDegree for further editing if necessary, back to me then over to Knight, who was extremely kind enough to give us some time to run sims and check the work being done.

It is pretty much the best of both worlds, and you can set it up to play however you want. I don't see why anyone WOULDN'T use it.

Just thought I'd throw this in, since it seems some people are under the mistaken impression that 30-team control means you HAVE to control EVERYTHING about every team, which isn't true.
can you post or PM me exactly how to set up the franchise if I want to play as the White Sox but use my IN SEASON thread to control ALL teams real life moves? So I want to make all the real life trades, DL stints, call ups/send downs etc for ALL teams but play as the White Sox and any other team I feel like (I have a feeling Ill be playing the June 8 Nats game hehe)

The way it works is, Franchise has GLOBAL settings and... player settings, or user settings, or something? I forget what the other one is called. But the way it works is, for all the teams that DO NOT have a profile assigned to them, they use the global settings. The team(s) your profile is assigned to use the user settings (or whatever it is called).

So if you want to do all the real-life trades, call ups/send downs, etc. you need to set those options to manual in GLOBAL settings, so that you control all teams' moves.

To set DL assignments, you have to change the DL option to MANUAL.

Hope all that helps. They really set up franchise this year so that you can play it however you want, but sadly, they don't EXPLAIN it to you very well at all. I learned all this stuff from trial and error, basically.

Controlling all 30 teams just doesn't appeal to me. I'm not a huge stickler for lineups, as I know things change all the time in MLB. As long as I can edit my team the way I want, I'm fine.
Problem is Shin-soo Choo is always going to bat leadoff and Marcus Thames will always bat clean up.

I find it infuriating when I am trying to take down the evil empire and Marcus Thames is batting cleanup. Where is the challenge in that? Give me A-Rod as the cleanup batter!

The other thing I hate is that when the computer substitutes bench players it goes right back to the lineup logic again. Is there any way around this aside from setting up the lineups for the opposing team manually?

Yeah, no doubt about the CPU and its lineup selection. I am going to give 30-team control a shot after V3 is released. I'll set the lineups for Opening Day and then switch the Global sliders to AUTO and then just take care of my team from there.

What's nice is that whenever I want to "fix" things, I can just switch the setting back to Manual, do my work and then go back to my 1-team control.

You don't even have to change it back to Manual. From my experience so far, the line-ups will "stick" with how you set them up even when set to Auto. Injuries are generally what causes things to get changed...if a starter gets injured, when he comes off the DL the cpu changes things all around.

What I've done is handle all the injury issues myself...it can be a little annoying/tedious, but it keeps me from having to mess with the line-ups too often. I use auto-fix for the minor league teams, but the pro teams I handle manually. Seems to have kept the line-ups I set almost perfectly so far.
