Yes, the game is playable if you make efforts to avoid things... but the avg person buying the game is not expecting to have to avoid in-game items just to play it.
What do you have to avoid in the game just to be able to play it?

Trade logic is a little goofy, but not outlandish. If you do not want to see a star traded release and resign hm to a longer deal.

I actually like that big players are traded for prospects, just wish it would be after the team is out of contention.

stars DO get traded. i mean pujols getting dealt twice in a franchise is kind of out of worldly...but mike piazza got traded twice in a matter of days...when he was arguably the top slugging catcher in the game.
alex rodriguez was traded in his career.
johan santana was traded.
roy halladay was traded.
cliff lee was traded twice in the span of 6 months.
derek jeter and chipper jones type players, who play for one franchise at an elite level their whole careers come along very rarely, which brings me to my point.
if albert pujols gets traded in your franchise, it's not the end of the world. there have been stupid trades in the history of baseball, not EVERY trade is market-acceptable. if you want every GM in your franchise to be incredible businessmen, more power to you. but if albert pujols gets traded for 3 A-potentialed players, it's actually more plausible than you think. granted we all know it's NOT going to happen in real life this year, but strange things happen in general. i actually kind of hope pujols gets traded when i boot up my franchise, make things nice and fresh.
so while i agree i'd love a patch that bails me out if i forget to check my trade proposals a couple days, there is NO reason to get on SCEA's case for trade logic.

Good post man...

Can't play a full game in Tropicana Field.

Can't intentionally walk someone online.

Always worrying about a game freezing up sometimes late into a franchise season.

Can't perform some actions in RTTS without worrying about if the game will freeze or not?

And some can argue that the aspects created by some of the bugs & glitches detract from this game so much so it is no longer a baseball game....just some odd sports game.

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update

They could fix a lot of the star trade issues if they just added the real life 5/10 rule, where players with 5 years on a team and 10 in the majors can't be traded (without consent). Then you wouldn't see the Jeter's or Chipper's traded away. I haven't gotten that far in my franchise yet, but last year's game was pretty good in regards to trades. I didn't feel that it was at all terribly unrealistic.

Nothing to do with franchise, but can understand your frustration.

Always worrying about a game freezing up sometimes late into a franchise season.

Cant comment as ive not played late into a Franchise season yet

Again not Franchise, and also cant comment as dont play RTTS

I appreciate your post and im as annoyed as anyone when a 'bug' interferes with a game I enjoy, but Franchise mode is playable and does not need certain things to be avoided.

Sergio's post explains the logic thing more than I could, things dont always go to plan, thats how Franchise is atm.

I agree with you. Like many of us here, I would love for the Show to be a real as possible. I love to have up to date real life rosters in my franchise but, in all honesty, it boils down to it still being a video game the mimics real like in a "virtual" vaccumm. Yeah, some of the trades made during a franchise can be outrageous if you apply them to the real world, but since the trades are virtual, they sometimes aren't so bad if you look at them from the "virtual" perspective. I hope this makes sense to some.

With that said, rather then drive myself crazy and buy myself a one way ticket to "shutter island", I choose to start my franchise with the most up to date rosters when I decide to start. What happens during my franchise is fine with me. I don't have the time to control all 30 teams and don't have the time to keep up with all the transactions during the season and mirror them in my franchise.

Just my .02 cents.
