just remember to check your pending transactions every day.

Im not sure I can justify missing out on say 30 days or so waiting for a patch (which usually works with existing saves) as that to me will probably be 'tops' 40-50 games potentially played!

And although I will miss using Knights rosters I think I need to get going to gain some momentum

Worst case, patch is not franchise compliant and thus I restart when it arrives w/Knights fantastic work.
Yeah i hear you mate, totally, i was the same last year delayed too long before starting, not this year as im determined to finish at least one full season if not more.

Also if you are 36-14 and the patch is not existing saved game compliant you might not be so keen to restart

Cant wait to hear your progress on "our" site

Ill be lucky to chalk up 36 wins for the season

Yeah im of the same focus, 09 I was too stop start and in the end wasted my chance to do a full season which annoyed me looking back. This time although I am a stickler for as much realism as possible, im going to try and get going from the off.

Its such a good game that I dont want to waste this years Baseball without achieving at least one complete season (the misses wont be as happy though )

Looking forward to your progress with the Tigers too mate, Damon is a nice addition and the Central is always tight.

Fireworks? Candy? Puppies? Unicorns?

That's all I've got unless you count real rosters, but meh, who would count that?

Real rosters for you maybe, but I'm an Astros fan and Jason Castro probably won't be added to the MLB players union for a while. The front office won't call him up on opening day for financial reasons, unless J.R. Towles really tanks.

I suppose I could always create Castro and start my season, but I forget how the system handles Potential for created players.

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update

I'm running a test for the "workaround" to make sure it works! I am simming ONLY 1 day at a time. THEN going to the "pending transaction" screen to see if any trade offers are up for any of the 30 teams, along with waiver wire.

Here is what I'm doing with all the options:

Controlling ALL 30 teams- 1 team set to profile "Steve(me)" and the other 29 set to "NO PROFILE"

Global Options:

Auto save/load: OFF
Injuries- ON(personal preference, thinking about turning OFF though)
Lineups/Rotations: AUTO
Roster Moves: AUTO
40-Man Roster: AUTO
Waivers: MANUAL(should stop teams from claiming players, but doesnt fix them from placing players on waivers. When they clear they are placed on that teams AAA team, so techinally still on the team anyway.)
Injury Management: AUTO
Trades: MANUAL
Management: AUTO
Rehab: AUTO
Free Agency: MANUAL(I want to decide "realistically" who signs where after I finish manually resigning players to their teams.)
Contracts: MANUAL(CPU screws this up bad. Yankees signed Vlad, Mauer, and another big name player all while not resigning Jeter! Horrible logic in this department imo)
Everything else: AUTO

Profile: Steve(me w/ team I am playing with)

Lineups: MANUAL
Roster Moves: AUTO(just personal preference, I don't want to mess with looking at minor league players every week to see who's injured and whos not doing well etc...)
40-Man Roster: MANUAL
Waivers: MANUAL(Cpu still places players on waivers for you, but again the other 29 teams won't claim them, so they just are sent to AAA after 2 days or so.)
Injury Management: MLB ONLY(Don't want to see pop ups for minor league injuries everyday, so I just see MLB players and deal with them.)
Trades: MANUAL
Training: AUTO(preference)
Management: AUTO
Rehab: AUTO
Free Agency: MANUAL
Contracts: MANUAL
Everything Else: AUTO

Testing now, simming one day at a time so will take a little while, will post back with results in detail
