I'm a little disappointed that directional sliding has been removed for 'X'. I was hoping it was just for the demo but the screens confirm it in the final build too.

It looks like the took out the ability to cancel a throw to a certain base/cutoff as well.

Heh, I have the exact oppositie problem. Mine goes to the right always. I think it has to do with how I hold the controller, I don't hold it exactly strait for some reason, and I think that throws off the way I pull and push on the right stick. That's my only guess, I just move the ball a little more to the left so I can get it where I want it to go.

You should probably move the ball cursor a little to the right of where you want the ball to end up, and you'll get the fastball thrown where you want it thrown.

It shows the left stick to aim slide. What could be done last year?

Yeah, you can still aim slide w/ the left stick. Still works. Works wonderfully actually.

Lol, I'd like to know why some of the harder to see upper deck levels have cardboard cutout fans... this is 2010 isn't it?

After playing a ton of 3 inning games, I can say that, for me, pitching is entirely too easy.

But it's an easy fix.

1. Make it harder to hit the zone, and your spots.

2. Make the CPU do more when you miss location.

The biggest "problem," (not really a problem, I think, because this is pro settings) is that you can throw fastballs in the middle of the plate, with a good gesture, and get easy outs. I did this for one 3 inning game and allowed only 2 hits, both singles.

I have absolute confidence that the hitting will be great this year.

I did games where I tried to work the count and draw nothing but walks. Using the defensive swing semi-effectively, I made A.J. Burnett throw 56 pitches in his 3 innings.

I did a few games using only the contact swing and did fairly well as far as getting hits.

I did two games using only the power swing. Got 1 hit in the first, 3 in the second. No homers.

Can't wait for Tuesday.

Do we have a definitive answer as to whether or not the LS has a function in hitting?

In the 2nd round of questions to the developers (post demo) a couple of issues with hitting were brought up and he never mentioned the LS. The type of hit is dependent on the type of swing and location of the pitch.

I always thought the LS was influential in determining the direction of the hit and the type of swing.
