They have....the time and temp...umpires....league leaders in different catagories....on deck batters....pitchers warming...and more.
Some are static like in the vid....others(league leaders for instance)....will drop down and then scroll.

I also am very happy to have the up to date batting avg....hr....totals on the walkup screen along with your days at bats.

I wish they would show some of the splits vs. screens for you guys to see!

This game is just shaping up to be one bad a$$ game.

A cool one they display is when a hitter has a runner in scoring position, they will show his average in that situation. Pretty cool!

That sounds really neat. It's little things like game temperature and time that add the small stuff to presentation, and then updated league leaders that really is cool to me. It's this type of stuff that keeps the franchise fresh and interesting.

Edit: That sounds awesome Nem. That is something I like about watching other league games on espn's gameday... they have all those different splits

Do we still have the same umpires this year? As far as the same set of names

Re: MLB '10: The Show Gameplay Video (1up)

Okay, great video! This game's presentation is just so much tighter that it really makes everything flow much better. I even saw the sports ticker there for a second!

Now instead of continuing off the same path noting every great thing I saw (I'm sure they have been and will be covered by others in this thread), I do have a question for Russell and then an observation for you all:

Russell - In the gameplay video released yesterday, I made the observation that Dave and Rex weren't talking much... now I think I know why. It seems that RTP messes with their cues for when they're supposed to talk. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it looks like the way RTP works is it will stream everything until the end of a "play" (meaning before the next batter steps up or before we see a replay). That said, we are still in the "play-by-play" stream at this point. There is no place where Hudler or Campbell are cued to chime in as opposed to past iterations, where the cut-scene would be loaded into the game, giving them room to talk about the play or what have you. I think that's now three or four plays where I took note of that, so I think that's what's going on here.

My question is, since this video is probably very old, was this addressed at any point? Was there a way you guys got the coding rearranged so that they can make a comment after a play in RTP without "loading" them in like the game would if it wasn't running in RTP? Basically, will we ever be able to hear them after a play if there isn't a replay?

Thanks.

Then my second observation, and this was about the ground friction thing (which I think is actually pretty good), but if you notice around the 5:00 mark there's a line drive foul ball that skips on the ground, ricochets off the wall, and soars into right field. There was an old Yankee video that showed somewhat of the same effect, only this one is a little more exaggerated looking. I'm not speaking anything about the game, but in that video before you guys said that you see that stuff in real life all the time. I see that effect in real life, but not to that extreme. So I just wanted to ask again, if you watch this video... do you see that kind of foul ball in real life in the way that it rebounds off the wall? I just wanted to know.

I wouldn't doubt if these teams are the two that will be in the demo. If you think about it, the Twins have the cover athlete (which I think from now on, the cover athlete should be the center of attention. So last year the Red Sox should have been in the demo since it was Pedroia etc.), the Twins have a nice new field that the team would like to show off a little early, and last year the Twins and Tigers played arguably the best game of the season in their win-and-you're-in game to get to the playoffs. All speculation, but whoever the teams are in the demo, I will be downloading.

Baseball demos have always been the two world series teams. So expect Yankees-Phillies at Yankee Stadium

To me that foul looks believable. The wall has an arc to it, so depending how it makes contact it could have propelled it instead of impeding its progress.

Oh definitely, I'm not saying it shouldn't have gone that direction or path, but just the fact that it made its way all the way to deep right field... I mean that carried well over one hundred feet is all. It doesn't look like the friction otherwise becomes too much of an issue (except noting that on grass it bounces just as high, so there may be some unwarranted ground rule doubles).

As long as we can rip doubles down the line, that's what's most important. I just wanted to know people's opinion on this one, because they said that they felt the Yankee Stadium one was okay, but that video was much more low quality, so I was wondering what ya'll thought about this one. No ripping, no negatives... just wanted to know.

Thanks.
