The main trouble I'm having after the patch is computer defense. It's like my players keep leaving the shooters wide open. And like someone earlier said when I switch they run with me and leave someone open. Also when the computer runs pick and roll its becoming automatic bucket for a wide open shooter. This is all on pro level. The game was its best after the first patch, it seems like that are tinkering too much with these games. Oh well almost baseball season already.

and this is not using an existing association, it was using a brand new one but i did find a resolution.

if you have this problem:

BEFORE you start your association, you have to go to those players that have the "2010 - 2011 contract glitch" like (Boykins, Udoka, Antonio Daniels, Tinsley, Barry) & so on.... sign them to a team & then edit their contracts so that is only a value in the first year & the others are greyed out & then save.... then release the player from the team & repeat steps for all of the problem players.... save the roster & start a new association using that roster & the issue will be resolved.

it seems like they made the problem fixable with the patch but did not actually fixi the ACTUAL problem with the players themselves.
quick question about this fix as i just deleted EVERYTHING minus my roster file and am about to reluctantly start an association with player roles off. do you have to assign them to a team or can you just edit their contracts in the FA pool and save? and basically, you just give them a salary of 0 year 1 correct? b/c otherwise, all the other years won't grey out?

The gameplay with the 2nd patch has degraded:

The cpu scores 85% of there points directly under the basket.

Dribbling is back worse, some crossovers hesitate so the defender can keep up and its back to the erky jerky motions.

The post game is gone!
I can't back smaller players down hardly. If I do I get that ******** one handed awkward/backward toss up. That animation happens about 90% of the time when the cpu is making a run.

I can't get any easy layups around the basket; most of the animations help the defender play D.

For some reason my teams defense awareness is at 0!
My players leave there man/switch for no reason leaving players wide open .

I don't know how many times a player is running back on D then turns around to double team someone at half court. Now the guy he was defending gets a easy dunk/layup.
It seems my teams get in bad positions and when I switch to the player and put him back the other guy I switched from does the same thing.

With your pick and roll issue, if you see your cpu teammate go with the handler why don't you go with the roller? Like real life. Or you can icon switch to the other player and make sure he doesn't follow the ball and stays with his man so he can't roll to the basket. Pick and roll isn't just about rolling to the basket but also to create switches for mismatches. Like do you try to go with Nash or do you switch? You often see teams irl actually switch since Nash is knockdown shooter and they end up with a point guard on Stoudamire. Pick your poison. But if you have a strong defender who can slip the screen easily then go early. If you go early and stay completely with your man I find that the cpu teammate won't double and stay with the screen.

If you can get adept at icon switching on the fly and rotate yourself (don't have to do it too often, only when you feel like you need to, like when you switch to a big man for a weak side block if you feel you will get beaten off the dribble) the game plays realistic. Just remember that the opposition cpu will take what you give. So concentrate on their big guns and give their crapper players j's. I don't mean to sound pretentious. I'm not an expert at this game by any means and I do not defend pick and rolls with amazing consistency. But I do know how to stop it and when I apply it and pull it off it works. Sometimes it doesn't because of a delayed reaction from me or because my player is flat out bad at defending.

However I've been playing on default sliders for testing and I do agree that scores tend to be a bit high. But I only get about 35-45 cpu PIP per game (I play with Magic and DH actually scares them, when he is off the floor they try to drive relentlessly but when he is on they don't. I was impressed by that). I play on 12 minute quarters so I'm thinking of lowering the shooting sliders coz cpu gets about 50% shooting and if the high scores are volume based instead of shooting percentage then maybe lower maybe game speed or 11 minute quarters instead for lower scores.

Final note. I just find it unbelievable that 2k can completely break an important part of Association. Players roles help make association real and you simply have to turn it off if you want to play association. Well and truly disappointing.

Ugh, this patch murdered online play for me. All of a sudden everyone uses the Mavs and Dirk Nowitzki is literally the only player that scores but he makes every single shot even when he shoots a 3 out of the double team... I've been reading that this patch made it harder for cheesers cuz you can't drive and dunk at will but seriously it's not even fair if you use Dirk now. And they definitely overdid the blocking in this patch; defenders don't even have to jump to swat your dunk to half court. I play sim online, but when I'm able to get nice penetration for a dunk and nobody contests it and it gets sent back to halfcourt still? not for me.

I went back to played an online ranked matched again and people still can cheese... I dunno. I remember how pissed off I was now...cuz most folks just go to the paint 90% of the time cuz it's so EASY to do!!!

I guess it's back to private match using Pared's sliders again

Im having an issue with the patch not "staying" on my console everytime I go offline. After downloading then go offline, the game glitches are back, but then when I reconnect it gives the "update is available....." message and dloads the patch again. I usually play offline. Ive already erased my saved items then re dload the patch, still does the same thing. Does anybody know a fix for this?
