BTW....from the vids I couldn't help but notice that the chalklines are 2 millimeters to thin. Also, the grass blades are about 2 inches too short which could be the reason why we are seeing the ball hit the grass and bounce over the wall. I know its an early build but maybe they could fix it before the final build or if not, then patch it because who wants to play a game where the chalklines are too thin and the grass is too short?
You have me all wrong here. You know how much I loved MLB '09 The Show despite its "faults" (and I hardly want to call them such because they already do everything better than any other baseball game ever has). You just have to remember that this game became what it was because the developers are perfectionists themselves, and they have listened to the community give feedback. Remember that "secret" thing where they flew down community members to rip the game apart? Why did they do that? This is why... year in and year out they are getting closer to perfection. I would like to be a big help in that whenever possible.

I'm not saying that the things they have in the game are awful and require an overhaul or else I won't buy the game, so don't take the nitpicking personally or a means to defend the game at all cost. You don't need to be sarcastic towards me, I already know that I'm going to drive two hours away to find this game a week early, and that I will probably miss class the day that the demo comes out to play it until my eyes shut themselves. You don't have to remind me of how great this game already is, but I'm just trying to remind everyone of where the greatness comes from and where improvements can still be made.

I'm pretty sure this is part of the broadcast camera. It is systematic to the flow of the rest of it (changes to this view when left of center, the center cam in the middle of the field, and down the right field line when right of center).

I'm not saying I don't realize this isn't a demo mode, but I don't think that's a relevant point in this case. This is the broadcast cam we're seeing in full effect here.

What I meant when I made that comment was that I think most people here believe that these guys can turn East L.A. into El Dorado. These guys are very talented... but let's draw lines here.

Wow Blzer was just making a point about the ball hitting the grass and bouncing over the wall. Is this something you see in real life? I sure have not. I don't think you need to bash him for pointing out something that maybe the developers could analyze at this point and fix before release.

Why is constructive criticism an issue to you?

Blz...I think the real problem is...you regard YOURSELF too highly.
Seriously....get a grip on yourself.

I know you're trying to get everything perfect(in Blzr's world perfect)....but you're a little heavy handed.

Less coffee...more water perhaps?

Like I said, that scenario still stands. Imagine there being a pickle here:

If you're the baserunner (or maybe the fielder), don't you think that this will be somewhat difficult to precisely determine your proximity with the opposing player? This may (and it only may) be the best angle to field a ball hit in this direction, but beyond that I don't see much good in this angle being created post-fielding.

Now look at this camera angle here (thanks dmbfan):

Don't you think that, not only does it remain consistent and look more beautiful showing off the entire field, and not only does it seem playable for any ball hit into the field (including down the lines), but that it would be much easier to perceive where you are in relation to a runner or fielder to make a decision on what to do? The other view causes that obstruction that doesn't make it very easy to see, and though it doesn't happen often, it only takes once for somebody to complain when it does to consider what could have been done to avoid it.

I'm just spit-balling here is all, waiting for the next awesome video to come out and hopefully see what home runs look like in this broadcast cam. Remember that I was the one last year who prayed, day in and day out, that we would have a broadcast cam. With that being said, you may think that I'm coming off as not liking this cam, but by that prior statement I must [by default] be the most excited to play with this camera once we get the demo. And it was me wishing constantly and early that got them the idea that this inclusion could be a good thing. I'm not complaining for complaining's sake, it's always for the greater good. The reason SCEA is so great is because they respond to the community, but we have to communicate back to them to make that work. I mean, you guys always say this is still an early build and they have a lot of tweaks to make, right? I'm suggesting things now.
I understand where you are coming from on this. Unfortunately there are going to be certain fielding scenarios that are going to be at more of a disadvantage than others. I know this camera view has been put under great scrutiny. We are going to have to wait and see what the end result will be.
