Re: NCAA Football 11 Potential Features (Pasta Padre)

Dear, EA Sports
fficeffice" />>>
I want to begin by saying the NCAA Football series on Last-Gen(LG) was an enormous doormat to what we hardcore gamers, college football lovers, and newbies a-like thought would be the jackpot entering the era of Next-Gen(NG). However sadly this is not the case. Now with your 3rd installment we college football fans are in great disapproval with what you have given us to believe is a correct installment of a college football game sim. I am appalled at how reverse NCAA has been in on NG. Gameplay is worse than LG it’s like ratings DONOT I repeat DONOT once more DONOT EXSIST. There has been countless times where I can have a legit elusive/speed back i.e. Jahvid Best(Cal.): with like 95-99 speed, accel., and agility, and I’m caught as I’m trying to hit the outside by a DE whose speed is 76 accel. Is 73 and agility, not even worth mentioning, however is 66. I am not only caught but demolished by that end. Why? Because there is no TRUE physics nor locomotion to this game. NONE at all. Thus begins my advice to help make NCAA Football 2011 excellent.
GAMEPLAY(and ONLY GAMEPLAY):>>
I’ll begin with RATINGS—which have no meaning in this game what so ever. As result makes many players on the same playing field. In my opinion speed to extent the passing ratings as well to a miniscule extent are the only ones that matter. Acceleration, does not matter, however is ridiculous because this and agility matters do much in college football. Much like in my example above players that have 99 SPEED and 99 ACCEL and 99 AGILITY and weigh 180 lbs CAN BE CAUGHT by a DE with who weighs 280 with 75 SPEED 73 ACCEL and 67 AGILITY. First let’s do math that’s a 100 lb diff. added that the DE is OBVIOUSLY slower and less athletic compare to my player described. YET, it DOES NOT I repeat DOES NOT matter the DE catches him. WHY? (excuse my grammatical errors to follow b/c EA PISSED ME OFF) I tell you why because of EA’s ridiculous time shift animations and disregard to ratings. WHICH allows to me conclude the terrible decision to base a NEXT-GEN game on animations alone. STOP IT EA, just stop. Physics/Locomotion SHOULDN’T be a feature “voted” amongst two others to be voted in a game that should have had it since 08 it should just be there. WOW EA TEAMBUILDER and SEASON SHOWDOWN..great distractions..I didn’t even play with my teambuilder team b/c of the fact that the gameplay pissed me off so much it wouldn’t make a difference in what team I played with the physics were nonexistent. I thus gave up on football sims until I picked up APF 2k8. Ignoring graphics the physics engine/and locomotion are phenomenal for a game made 3 yrs ago EA 3 YEARS AGO..3 YEARS..heck for a GAME THUS FAR. I created my favorite school FLA. and it felt like FLA. Football and it is not even a licensed NFL or NCAA game. However it was like PHYSICS MATTERED..”OH MY GOSH” I exclaimed as Jeff Demps, possibly the fastest player in NCAA football, made REAL cuts that were sharp real in comparison to actual life..I mean “dirt-clots” actual “dirt-clots” were kicked up due to pressure and “quick” change of motion occurred..yeah I understand it is minute detail but GUESS WHAT? EA didn’t have and still DOESN’T..HAVE..matter of fact its NG it does matter…IT SHOULD BE THERE.. EA this is your redemption year.. I honestly believe..THE ONE-N-ONLY FOCUS OF 2011 SHOULD BE PHYSICS/LOCOMOTION/GAMEPLAY..then everything else can be added. B/C you can look at APF 2k8 and say they don’t have this or that…but u know why people till this day prefer over Madden and NCAA? GAMEPLAY-GAMEPLAY-PHYSICS-PHYSICS-ABILITIES THAT MATTER-LOCOMOTION…..EA PLEASE renovate your whole physics engine for both because in short they were tragic. AND for those who say PRO-TAK..no..PRO-TAK was a joke 9-man tackles 20 yrds downfield WHAT? Then you’re telling me it takes 4-5 men to tackle Percy Harvin WHAT? EA if PRO-TAK exist next year overhaul that as well but don’t add it to NCAA that would be the last bullet. However what you do need to do is add PHYSICS… I mean look at from this point of view; people play APF to this day over Madden/NCAA b/c of physics being implicated. People play LG NCAA 07 b/c of what GAMEPLAY..PPL play an almost 6-YR OLD GAME NFL 2k5..why? b/c PHYSICS and GAMEPLAY..wow..so you want to actually make that 60$ worth it Please without question or suggestion..make GAMEPLAY/PHYSICS implied..forget tweaking a COMPLETE OVERHAUL..(sigh) b/c my voice as years in the past will be unheard and we will be served another year of Season Showdown probably with new features..and maybe even a updated “mascot mash-up game features” …I laugh..really EA..really..maybe 2k will come back one day. However if not EA this is your year
---NCAA Football 2011=???? To be continued…
Sincerely, A concerned FAN

i see that no one has mentioned wat i am about to say and i don no why. But i am sick and tired of seeing these terrible accessories on the game. How come when you put tape on a players feet , it is either to high or too low. They need to go look at the ps2 games to see what the tape should look like on the feet. And why cant they have different colored spats on there feet. also those jersey sleves are ugly. noones jersey sleeve looks like that. Also let us be able to put bands on the players biceps and calfs. Wear eye black. And why does no one have dreads when they do in real life. Like Dexter Mckluster. At least Madden has hand warmers and towels and the new under armour shirt that is only over the shoulder. These may be little things but they would make a big difference. i think what the problem is is that they are trying to make it too real and cant. It is gettin to the point that ncaa on ps2 is starting to look more real. And please make the fields more realistic. When it is pooring down the field shouldn look brand new in the fourth quarter. And it would really be good to see a player get tackled in some red paint and come up with red on their jersey rather than green or brown. I just want improvements. Its 2010 lets act like it!!!

Re: NCAA Football 11 Potential Features (Pasta Padre)

Hello, EA
After my previous letter I still strongly believe in physics/gameplay is the way to go for next year’s game....
I also realized AI reaction of the players and CPU need to be refined.
fficeffice" />>>
THE TRENCHES(O-LINE/D-LINE)
In real life O-Linemen don't take steps back on run-plays, they are taught to a drive-step (forward!) toward their opposing man. Now as they proceed to do that next they must* bring their hands* along with their feet. Therefore not using their body-weight and leaning, much like NCAA Football's misleading animations of linemen just leaning..or not looking for a man. Which leads to another point if OL misses his man he DOESNOT stand around observing his QB getting sacked. If this occurred in real-life that OL would lose his job too quickly. ((P.S.--Now on OL the most valued pos. is the LT(Left Tackle)..why? Because the LT protects the QB blindside seeing as most QBs are RT Armed and have their back to the left side.--note this EA, please note this)) Now to DL, DL are naturally faster and quicker than OL, however this is never expressed unless a O-Linemen shifts opening up a gap a truck could drive thru. As DL you are taught correct technique footwork, yes DL have footwork to master. Now seeing that DL are faster than OL (most often than not) "Great" DL should whoop a "Weak" OL 75-87% of the time during a game. Therefore in a game there Florida's Great DE #8 Carlos Dunlap should not be getting blocked by a weak OT from FIU, allowing him to win maybe 35-58% time. That's ridiculously, however I’m not saying EA to allow Dunlap to win 89-99% however based on his Attributes it would allow him to win roughly 82-89% of the time. Visa-versa if there is an excellent OL that has great-high ratings (i.e. a Texas Longhorn Offensive Guard) should not be getting blown off the ball by a North Texas DT(Def. Tackle). The OG should win 78-88% of the time, however if the OG is less quick and as fast as the DT but stronger he should win 75-88%. EA review your OL and DL Ratings; they consist of footwork & skill strength. So, if a have a reliable skillful run-blocking OT he should be able to block an elite quick pass rushing DE. Why? Because a OT that is strong in mostly run-blocking means his pass-block footwork is lower, however doesn’t say he can’t pass-block its jus that going against a pass-rush DE he is going to have a difficult time.<
WRs & CBs INTERACTIONS
For years EA fans have complained about interactions of WRs and CBs, however Madden made an attempt, but didn’t quite fulfill expectations. Now in College elite WRs who have great feet and are quick find ways to beat their opposing opponent off the ball and into open space. Now true LOCKDOWN CBs understand they must find ways to knock their opposing WR off balance and out of their route, disrupting the QB-WR timing. As well in the air CBs who have their backs to the ball rely on judging the WRs hands and eyes to find the ball. Therefore leading to CBs breaking hands or only mid-air collisions and not amazing glitch 360 degree turns to intercept the ball or random knockdowns while having their back to the ball(EA tuned this down but didn’t completely remove it). Now when you have a 6’4 WR and a 5’10 CB obviously in the redzone a QB would look for a situation much like this seeing as the WR without a doubt has the advantage. However somehow these CBs found ways to magically out jump the WR and intercept the ball. What? Not at all possible if a QB lobs the ball up toward the WR the only reasons the ball should not be caught is if the CB plays the WR and not the ball, however in these situations the ball is caught 80-100% of the time depending on the ratings on both the CB and WR.
QBs and THEIR MOVEMENTS & OPTION/ZONE READ
To begin lets first start with the drop-back movement of an actual QB it’s more of a cross back step rather than that glitchy step slide shuffle EA has been using in their “NEXT GEN” games. This is quite upsetting how EA couldn’t fix something as small as this. Next is power behind the ball. First the ball looks too big and not real at all, more like a rocket cutting threw air. EA give the ball physics as well a ball should look as if it is floating weightlessly through air if it was thrown as a lob. Conversely the ball should look as if it was thrown hard forming a spiral tighter or looser depending on the QBs Throwing Power. QBs THRW ACC should vary in short, mid, & deep pass situations, much like in Madden QBs should have ACC ratings for these situations, however unlike Madden should matter more. Another I thing I feel should be added for all players and pos. is players tendencies muck like in the NBA 2k series or NBA Live even for that matter. Implementing Player Tendencies would allow players to edit and make players much like the real-life counterparts. For example for QBs if there were tendencies for how often the QB runs or passes could make a difference between a Jeremiah Masoli(#8 OREGON) and a Matt Barkley(#7 USC). Seeing as Masoli would tuck and go creating fanatical plays with his feet oppose to Barkley looking and throwing to an open WR. This feature would now allow me to feel like I’m actually playing with Tim Tebow or Terelle Pryor or even a Tony Pike, having tendencies would distinguish QBs from each other as well as starters from 2nd stringers. Now after reading my belief on the OL/DL interactions this leads us into QB zone leads and option plays. Now there are many people who ask to slow the game down like in Madden my guess why is to be able to be more successful at read plays and options. However I disagree strongly because Madden slowed was tragic and if they slow NCAA it would be horrendous. I recently played NCAA Football 07(Last Gen) and realized how the balance of the game allowed me to read the pursuit of the DE, which told me to give or keep the ball on the zone or Trip. Opt. The zone read or option is the basis for so many different college offenses, and is basically useless in NCAA Football 10. PLEASE EA FIX this, not cover it or half-way, but completely. PLEASE. I like the option to set plays up with other plays that’s good. Now if you guys fix the read it will be effective when I can go to zone read pass and put 6 on the board, or even opt. pass and throw a deep ball to RB#21 LaMichael James from Masoli. This will add to realism and parallelism to real “Saturday Gameday” football we fans want to see.
RBs--ABILITIES
Running Backs are usually classified as power, elusive/speed, & balanced. Power backs in college are usually 218-230 lbs or higher, elusive backs on average are about 175-205 lbs, and balanced backs 180-217 lbs otherwise can vary. So for recruiting NO MORE 176 lb powerbacks. Continuing on Power back tend to run like they are on wild hunt, just recklessly, with power steps just ready to run-over DBs or LBs, basically anyone who gets in their way. (an ex. Would be run style of ex-OU RB Adrian Peterson) Elusive/Speed backs run more like those trackstar animations EA has now, however more fluid and lower shoulder and light on their feet ready to change direction, cut, juke, stop-n-go/back step, or spin. These motions need to be implemented no-questions look at APF 2k8 and how they utilized the Right Stick on the controller without even using the LS an elusive back can make stick cuts, realistic shimmies, reliable real spins, back jukes, stop-n-goes, and jukes. The most exciting thing is the change in speed and how quick a player can change speed depending on ACCELERATION, which actually matters.(ex to look at Jahvid Best from Cal. or Reggie Bush ex-USC tail-back)Balanced backs have more of a “Textbook” run style fluid, smooth, and balanced allowing to transition into any move necessary; good cuts, stiff arms, a truck, etc. Running Backs just need to have their tendencies to like; how many times would they rather bounce it, or punch through the middle. Also on how sharp their cuts are how affective the jukes, spins, trucks, stiffs are and how quick they can change their direction in open space.
PLEASE EA REVIEW and READ PLEASE…and forum readers review as well. THNX—durum44 a.k.a 2nice

Re: NCAA Football 11 Potential Features (Pasta Padre)

Matchup view - they had this a few years ago in last-gen when you could press a stick before the snap and see various colors of circles telling you where the better matchups are. This is also a suggestion for Madden as well. When I'm at the playcalling screen or at the line, even if I know who and where the weaker players on the defense are, it's hard to see their numbers.

On that note there should be some sort of "scouting report" feature in dynasty so you could see where your best matchups are prior to the game. Even add it to to the preview screens you already see (with the predictions and stats and schedules for each team)

These aren't really features, but stop the CPU from snapping the ball so quickly that I can't make defensive adjustments. Speaking of which, the CPU gets the play off WAY to quickly in no-huddle situations. The play finishes, and the team gets to the LOS, calls a brand new play, and gets the snap off in less than 10 seconds!

The CPU makes no mistakes! Never jumps offsides, never makes a bad read, never has to take a time out to save the play clock, never misses a tackle.

Custom formation substitutions. Suppose I want to, in 3WR formations, put my #1 receiver in the slot and put my speed #3 guy out wide. In certain formations I want one RB, in others I want my other RB. Maybe in still another I want my TE out wide, my SE in the slot, and the HB in the other slot.

An "easy-sub" button (same sugg for Madden). WIth one button, I can quickly make a common subsitutions, like swapping WRs, or spelling the RB.

CUSTOM STADIUM SOUNDS FOR TEAMBUILDER TEAMS!!!

Honestly this really does look like a really good game if they can ever get sliders to work correctly, get better graphics, more realistic jerseys, etc. I think this overall much better and better UI than madden.

Ok I know I am late on this but here are some things that I think should be changed or made in 2011.

1. ESPN

2.Make your own Rivals in the Dyn. (what I mean is that you have your narmal rivals like Ned and Col Wyo and CSU. But make it to where like Wyo and Col or TX and Wyo become Rivals)

3.Show more Stats on players ect.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Potential Features (Pasta Padre)

With the exception of about 2-3 things, ALL of this stuff should be "in the game", w/o having to ask us.

It's like EA just wants to add as little as possible to get by. That's not good business and your sales will continue to go down because old school fans like me still see this game as lacking to something you created 7-8 years ago, on less powerful systems(PS2)

Not only are you hurting the current industry, but you're hurting the future of gaming as well, because with what I've seen thus far, there's NO way I'm buying a PS4 or whatever the next Xbox is.

What if the next iPhone regressed backwards and took away the features that made the original so popular? You think their sales would go up or down?

All I know is, ESPN presentation is a must. I'd like Locomotion gameplay and the team authentic entrances.
