I'm still on the side that the patch did more good than bad... HOWEVER... it's ridiculous some of the signature stuff was removed b/c of the patch, the introduction of the OT issue, and some of the other things people have noticed, like the skewed fouls.

They definitely loosened the game up.

I don't know if the patch is all to blame for some AI issues, either. The DNA has been suspect all season. Just a frustrating year after such promise last year.

Yeah, I am being harsh. Maybe too harsh.

However...I am one few guys here who sort of liked NBA Live 09.

It wasn't good...but it had so much potential.

All they had to do was iron out the DNA...add some up tempo stuff...fix the rebounding...and leave in tact their base, which was pretty solid.

LIVE 10 is a better game...but I really expected it to be a huge leap. Yet somehow DNA is still going haywire...and I really don't know what the hell they were thinking ripping out so much of the signature stuff + post game from LIVE 09.

In all their previews, they hyped up every new aspect of the game...so I (and I am sure most people) thought "Okay, LIVE 09 + all this new stuff = pretty damm good.

Instead we got lots of the good stuff from LIVE 09 removed...again, why? it makes no sense to remove singature stuff + post moves...and DNA is still going crazy and ratings are all over the place.

I don't hate the game at all...what it does well, as you said, it does very well. Better than any NBA game ever has IMO.

I am just kind of lost with why they tore out so many good things...and dissapointed that they still seem to have no idea what's going on with DNA.

I don't want to crititicise the team too much...but I find it kind of stunning that guys here post stuff like "why does a 7 foot stiff who's never taken a 3 point shot in his life have a 59 rating for 3 pointers and shoots them in my game".........and the developers seem clueless. It's just not a good look when a game's developer is saying "really, wow...i didn't know that"....when guys like Playmakers and Tomba have been talking about this stuff for three years. Does anyone at EA even check stuff?

The game has the potential to be amazing.....but "potential" is the most annoying word in sports and you can only use it for so long. Live 08 had potential...Live 09 had great potential...and now we are expected to accept "Live 10 is still a work in progress, it has potential"...

I was hoping LIVE 10 was the season we dropped the "potential" word to be honest.

If EA has any pride...they'll bust their backsides working on patch 2 and come back with all the crap ironed out...have LIVE 10 working properly and make it a great game now.

It's time to reward the guys who bought the game the past few years and this season...step up with patch 2.

No more "next season we will get it right"...that line is old from these guys.

All the bricked dunks are KILLING me. Who thought that was a good idea to include in the patch? I played a game online against one of my people earlier and I bricked 3 of them. 2 with absolutely no defender near me, and the other with someone trailing from behind. This is probably one of the more annoying aspects of the patch for me. I still enjoy the game online, but the little things irk me sometimes.

Tonnes of fellas in here like you, The Admiral, 23, Ehh etc...who all loved the game..are now either dissapointed in the game post patch or have given up playing.

I've sold it...but I'd happily buy it again if they fix all this stuff + get DNA fixed and add some more gameplay fixes in patch 2.

Hopefully the EA guys are reading this. Patch 2 is their chance to step up.

I definetly agree DNA is a mess.....

I've never been a big fan of it to be truthful because i think the game with proper ratings being assigned to players is the best way to go and overiding DNA from testing and tweaking has rendered somewhat better gameplay.

But there's still a few things hard coded into the game that only EA IMO can fix as I've determined after 1 month of editing isn't fixable without their help.

I'm not sure what to think anymore about the game....I haven't sold it or anything so i guess that's a good sign.

I still test out things when i get free time on weekends. But i've done more editing than playing which isn't cool at all but i just can't play and enjoy it with some of the b.s. stuff that occurs.

Lets hope a 2nd patch is the final piece to a puzzle that allows this game to render less headaches.

pre-patch is still an awesome game. I just got smoked in Phoenix to the Warriors. Steph Curry dropped 45 on me with 18-30 shooting. I made the jackson trade as well. I love this game without the patch!

Honestly i don't think you are being too harsh...i think you are telling the truth and sometimes the truth hurts.

I agree w/ you 100% and I feel exactly how you feel...after i been buying live year after year and the same problems exist then they take away the good from one year and don't make it better the next is very aggravating.

Im also tired of hearing "wait til next year" how many times have ea said that and their game is still just average.

Live 10 is on the shelf right now collecting dust and i really want to play it but can't. Live 10 is TOO BASIC and after i play a game of live then play my 2k10 i just sit back and tell myself how in the hell did ea let themselves get so far behind.

I feel the two games are night and day.(live being night and 2k being day)

Live just frustrated me to the point where i cant play it anymore....too much basic basketball is missing from the game.

Thank god i have 2k and cod mw2 to occupy my time until live get fixed with this second patch. (hopefully)

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Impressions (360, PS3)

I must be in the minority but I like the game, post-patch.

I play on All-Star with everything default aside from fatigue. My last game, which was a Dynamic Season rewind game with Toronto (CPU) vs. Denver (me), the Raptors went to the line 20 times, while I went to the stripe 26. I won the game, 106-98.

CPU offense isn't as herky-jerky anymore as it was the first few games when the patch came out. I see multiple passes before a shot is attempted. The CPU also sticks with its hot shooters, which is nice to see.

The play-calling in this game is outstanding and I love that the arenas are so full of life. The commentary could be more dynamic, but it's tolerable.

The contact animations are frustrating at times but with the layup solutions, I've done a better job of avoiding them. I've also stopped forcing the drives into the paint if they aren't there. Instead, I'll either kick the ball out to the wing or pull up for a 10-12 foot J.

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Impressions (360, PS3)

i've been having a good time for most part with game post-patch. play on default all-star. but still some issues that make me crazy.

-teammates just watching ball and not going for the rebound leading to offensive boards.
-one of my players doubles up on oppenent's player even when i set no for double teams for everyone.
-still missing a ton of open shots, can't get that release for certain shots.
-on cpu fastbreak, i'm trying to get my player back but sometimes he turns back (i'm guessing towards player he's assigned to guard), slowing him down allowing easy dunk by CPU.
-even tapping Y and contesting, shots still go in at a high clip. if I hold Y to block, seems like half time I get called for shooting foul. so not sure what to do there.
