Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention

i'll still never understand for the life of me why anytime someone has a complaint about THIS game, the first response is always about EA

Who gives a crap what EA is doing. The threads here are about 2K, not EA so enough already. In the EA forum there are very few threads that discuss issues with THAT game turning into something to do with 2k's game, unless it's someone specifically making a thread to say they are giving up on that game and going to try 2k instead.

Some of you guys are hindering the progress of THIS game with that kind of attitude. Keep on going with the "at least it's not like EA doing blah blah blah" nonsense and you give the devs of 2k even more of an excuse to be lackluster in their approach to fix this game. Don't accept poor game flaws in design A because you don't like the competition's design B. Does not make any sense whatsoever.

It's like having a massive leak in your water heater for your own house and responding with "well, at least we're not like the neighbor's house with subpar plumbing so let it leak".

never ceases to amaze me.

Unlike EA who released a patch right away and left players wondering "what exactly changed?", I believe this patch is going to have us feeling right from the get-go, "wow! this game is totally revamped".

I'd rather wait out a patch and actually have it be flawless and address a lot of issues then be a quick fix. Hopefully my gut is right on this one. Don't let me down 2k!
Or worse yet all it does is fix the ref bug or a few online issues and nothing else really. Or even better doesn't even come out for PS3, that'd be a kick in the knickers eh? Gotta look at both sides of the coin...

To be honest I don't have a problem with people having problems with this game, but when they start to attack the Devs and producers of the game. That is when I have a problem. I don't know why, but I do. But for the most part I am going to keep my thought to myself. I agree Sav, the Defense AI does it right a lot of times. I understand Philly problem and I do hope they are able too patch that for his stake.

er okay, but that has nothing to do with my post. Why is the response to a problem with this game always "Well EA's game has problem x,y,and z though"

I am not really responding too you. I just used you as the quote, because it is kinda on the same line. I guess because a lot of guys that complain about this game and big fans of the other game and therefore have an agenda. It happens with every game that has competition. I am not saying people are doing that here, but it is what it is.

Methinks you are exaggerating a bit, but I get your point.

Personally, I'm tired of every other thread turning into an EA vs 2k pissing contest. I didn't care for EA's demo and therefore don't play the game. Whatever is wrong with EA's game is of no concern to me and I'm certainly not going to waste my time surfing through the NHL 10 forums responding defensively to any post that knocks 2k10.

Imo, this applies to a select few, whom I'm sure the developers know would never say anything bad about the game no matter what. I'd say for the most part, most who post in this forum section are pretty honest and upfront about the game's flaws. There's a big difference in acknowledging and accepting a flaw and flat out denying one even exists. I don't really see that happening here.

I'm confident that the 2k devs are fully aware of the game's shortcomings and not denying they exist. A patch is in the works, which confirms they do acknowledge the game needs some fixing.

Don't put such thoughts in my head! Especially since I'm on the ps3... Lol, but your right. Like I said I was going out on a limb. Waiting for the patch I feel like I'm in a Vegas Casino, Rollin dice, going; "cmon 7, let's go 7" haha

Believe me, I doubt it will happen that way, but man that would be a major bummer. I'm hoping at best they can make the goalies a whee bit smarter in the animation selection and with the weird sliding and warping. That's my hope for what it's worth.
