Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

Question on all the Downloadable content craziness. If I didn't purchase the game on release day but bought in tomorrow do I still get a code for the 10 Motorsports Legends Car Pack and 2 Tracks or was that just a release day thing? Also what are all the Audi R8 coupons on Ebay for? Just the single car? I'm so confused by all of this LOL. Any help is appreciated.

In the manufacturer select (before selecting a car) the dealerships that have extra cars via the VIP packs will have an extra icon located near their logo.

Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

So I took a rather pronounced (perhaps drastic) step and turned off every driving assist except automatic transmission (ABS, TCS, STM), and immediately I can tell a difference in how the cars drive without them. This is not unexpected, but what I was surprised with was how quickly I learned how to manage driving the car without these assists.

Could be the cars I was using were easy to drive, but I drove the Vauxhall VX220, the Lotus Elise, and the 2008 Dodge Viper all for extended periods of time and really picked up how each moved quickly. The VX220 and Elise drove fairly similarly, while it was obvious the Viper had a huge motor and was very, very easy to lose control of if I wasn't paying attention.

That I actually managed to not only keep the car in one piece, but win races without the assists is a big step for me, as I've never played a sim racer without the assists on. I've still yet to run maybe more than five "clean" laps, but the game is a lot more challenging and wins are more satisfying than with all the assists on. I feel like I'm driving a lot better too; though I'm obviously not an expert, having less help driving the car has forced me to manage the car more carefully and be more attentive and less haphazard in my driving.

Next up, to learn how to drive stick, put the damage on simulation, and to finally stick the AI on hard.

I'm the same way only I keep Traction control on and use manual transmission. The cars still handle quite differently, but I really enjoy shifting my own gears especially popping to 2 down from 4 for a corner and powering out going into 3rd. I also like to see if I can get to 6th gear in cars that have it.

I also for the first time used the store front stuff to get designs...I looked at the tuning setups, and while some would be useful, I actually preferred my own for my fav cars. I have perfect setups for the Alfa 8c (A class) and the boxterS(c-class). It's cool how drastically different your cars can be, like I have a couple of tuning jobs gone wrong to the point where I don't like the cars anymore and kind of want to get rid of them and hope someone just looks at the class rating and pays for them.

I actually haven't looked into tuning really at all yet, beyond the Auto Upgrade feature (which isn't really tuning...). Any advice in this department?
