Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

Are you guys using the MS wheel or just the controller? I'm interested in picking up the wheel, I just don't know if it's worth it.

The wheel is great. This game really works seamlessly with it. Also, my times are much better with the wheel. There's just so much more you can do when you have the wheel that is difficult with the controller. This game really does an unprecedented job (on consoles at least) of really differentiating each car and you'll really get to appreciate the nuances of each car with the wheel IMHO.

I'm not a huge fan of paddle shifters, but I've grown to really appreciate them. You can get the wheel for a very reasonable price nowadays online.

On another topic, I can't wait till I can afford my real car. It's gonna be nice beasting out my ride. This game is like crack.

Just using the controller because I don't really want to invest in building a setup for it. I hear good things about the wheel though.

My friends clown me because I'm always pulling out the Buick Regal in our races. This game makes me want to buy one and soup it up lol.

Nice impressions. I may just continue to use the controller. My fiance is already clownin me because I play video games. Imagine if she came home to find me playing a racing game with wheel. Haha, I may be single after that...

Forza Motorsport 3 Title Update Next Week:

A new auto update cometh in time for Christmas. Sometime next week, you’ll be prompted by Xbox LIVE to update your version of Forza 3. Lots of little things on the backend getting tweaked this time, but here are some of the bigger fixes a number of you may care about:

* Adds the new custom Time Trials feature to scoreboards, allowing Turn 10 to set up unique hotlap challenges and leaderboards as we wish. In fact, look for a custom Time Trial featuring the R35 GT-R after the update is live. More info to follow below.
* Fixed slow load times for saved liveries, tuning files and layer groups in the design catalog. For those of you who were experiencing laggy performance and long waits accessing your saved content, the problem should be resolved now.
* Fixed achievements not showing up correctly when playing the game any controller port other than 1.
* Patched Time Trials leaderboard holes that allowed players to load tuning files for an advantage.
* Improved AI car shadows and fixed shadow flickering.
* Fixed audio in replay videos with manual shifting.

New Multiplayer Matchmaking Playlists

Our latest matchmaking playlists are live! Changes are listed below. For more information on all the matchmaking playlists, check out our info page here.

* The addition of “Virus Tag” to the “Playground” category.
* The addition of class specific playlists to the “Road Racing” and “Oval” categories.
* The addition of American Stock Car playlist to the “Oval” category.
* The addition of Class A and Class B playlists to the “Drag” category.
Title update is now available.

You don't have to build anything fancy, just something to go across your lap is fine enough with something to hold pedals in place comfortably.

Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

for the cockpit view

Whenever i up the fov it seems like the road gets harder to see.

I set the hidden degrees to 15 and the fov to 90

It looks like it is easier to see further while still having the in car zoomed out. It could just be me.

M$ doesn't have this posted on the XBL dashboard, but here is a link to a free Forza 3 theme.
