Re: NHL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360 & PS3)

I posted this a couple of days ago but it is still bugging me, now I have gone a week and a half since the last penalty was called against the cpu!!! I have the puck in teh opponents zone cycling away and setting up shots and the cpu never gets called for anything. I have had my guy take a shot and then after teh shot he gets put down and still nothing but if I do the same the whistle is blown!

Also the cpu loves to set up a player right infront of the net for the easy one timer and my ai defenseman lets him take the shot!!

I know the real thing will have sliders but there is no guarantee they will do the job.

Not having that issue at all. I just played a BFCM period as the Pens in fact where not only did the cpu Filppula get a game misconduct for a blatant slash, but Cleary took a two minute high sticking call and I scored on the ensuing 5 on 3 on a breakaway with Sykora on a terrible defensive line change by the cpu on a batted down puck at my blue line to win 3-2.

If you're able to set up in the zone and get a few good scoring chances the AI most definately takes calls.

Not having your other issue either, my cpu dmen on superstar do a decent job of clearing the front of the net, same period early on Det was setup in my zone, my cpu controlled Hal Gill put Dats on his *** in front of the net eliminating what would have been an almost sure goal as I was chasing a bit in my own defensive end.

I can't stress enough how much better this game feels and plays over 09.

^^^ agree with realm here....good amount of cpu penalties in game.

If not enough sliders hopefully can fix.

this year they will have the pp time slider right? Since I will play 10 min periods, each PP I will set as 1 min real time to get the accurate proportions in time. Possible right?

what level are you playing on? if you played on pro or rookie in the past, the cpu would take very few penalties because they played very soft non-aggressive defense to make the game easier.

yes this annoying. they should at least show the penalties on the screen even if they aren't going to run through every penalty cutscene. it's especially annoying in the demo because you can't even go into the pause menu and figure out what happened.

So I was playing be a pro mode. I love that mode. But I found out something. You know who is the fastest skater in the game. That one ref! I was trying to take out the ref in the post scrum crap and he kept out running me. And he was not even skating fast, and I was, it was quite funny!

yeah it's too bad you can't flatted him or whack him for comedic effect. i'm sure the nhlpa or whoever looks out for the refs wouldn't like it too much.

what i was hoping to see were some dirty moves for the goalie. maybe a button to give a little slash or a lovetap with the blocker. would make the goaltending a little more interesting and give a human goalie something to do after the whistle besides standing around like a dope or skating around doing glove saves like a loony.

I guess I was expecting the Halo game effect where you could shot your own men. I try hitting my men, but nothing happen. But at least they didn't skate away like a ***** like that ref did.
