Re: Q&A blog with the dev team

Will anything regarding the QB still throwing the ball away just before taking a sack be fixed?

Will formation subs be fixed so that you can reset the subs so that the depth chart comes back into play?

RE: Online Franchise
Will it be patched so players don't have the same numbers? (I had 3 WR, all # 81)

Will a trade block be added to online franchise?

For example, what ratings are checked when a RB tries to truck a DT?

2.) Is there any chance we will see more real life NFL penalties and them enforced correctly? Namely, the computer QB loves to throw the ball right before or as he is getting hit, resulting in obvious intentional grounding and sometimes these passes hit the offensive linemen which is illegal touching of the forward pass. This is not a new problem to Madden. On legacy gen the computer would practically spike the ball to avoid the sack. I really never saw this logic in the 2k games by the computer QB and they took sacks. This would add to presentation too. In real life we see QBs try to do this and get flagged for it and then they get up and point to a possible receiver that they were "trying" to throw to and the refs shrug it off like "No BS, that was intentional grounding."

3.) What is the AI blocking logic? What does it look like? With run blocking cranked up to 100 you see less problems but they are still there. There should be a difference between blocking poorly and not blocking. In Madden for years we get "non-blocks" and M10 is no different. When engaged in a block the interactions area lot better, and I give you all the props in the world for that, but the logic behind who to block and how to block is still very poor.

4.) Why can't we choose game speed for unranked games online?

5.) Seriously, blocking. I'm not kidding. I can't even play this game without custom sliders cranking run blocking up to 100 because of how stupid your line is. Even at 100 you see stupid AI problems.
check out a guy name versuz2 on youtube. he tells u and proves that pro setting with cpu settings to 100 makes a realistic game. blocking and everything is realistic that way. cuz all madden and all pro just makes the game cheat u to make the game a competition.

I can't seem to get an answer to this question..... Will Player Contracts and Salary Cap be added for "Almost Online Franchise" this year or do we have to wait for 2011? Simple question right?

Re: Q&A blog with the dev team

Some great questions in here, especially pointing out Illustrator and BB.

Each question is important.

I know these have probably been asked, but here are mine.

Will team chants be included or more pronounced?

Will the out of bounds issues be fixed. ie more dragging feet in bounds.

Will the QB duck throws be reduced to produce more QB sacks?

Will franchise stats be fixed? ie, 3-4 lb's produces higher QB sacks and more rushing TD's by RB's when simmed.

What level is considered to be the level that produces the best stats? All-Pro, Pro or Rookie?

Will penalty sliders be fixed. ie, more Defensive Interferences called. Holding, FM and Clipping are the major three that are called.

Will over the shoulder catches be reduced?

Better WR/DB interaction. It seems like the CB reads the WR and runs the WR route.

Better OL/DL interaction. I've seen some great line play and some questionable line play. OL breaks huddle and does the neurotic dance one in a while. Also, sometimes the OL doesn't pick anyone up to block and just sits there.

How about reducing the blitzing CB's by the CPU?

With the aforementioned as my witness.

Where is that game? The retail game pail in comparison with Community Day, Blogs, E3, and your rebuttal experiments of fixes in other Q&A's on this forum.
I think this one post pretty much sums the whole of this thread up. So this is question 8 on my list.

Re: Q&A blog with the dev team

Hi Ian

I've been playing offline co-op for many years, it's how I enjoy Madden every year. Now I'm really enjoying Madden 10 but there is one gameplay issue which I'd really appreciate a patch for;

When playing with Standard Camera, every now and again the camera shifts aggressively to one side. It normally happens on toss plays, WR screens, wide throws etc, and because the camera shifts so aggressively to one side it kills the play and makes it very hard to beat a defender or navigate your player through the holes (because you can't really see what's happening due to the camera shifting). Basically it disorientates the player you're controlling as the sudden screen shift isn't smooth. This only happens in offline co-op but I only play Maddens that way so it means a lot to me and my Madden teammates.

For the first time ever Madden Classic Camera has been removed. Whilst I don't mind the Standard Cam for the main part, I really don't like the rotating camera mid-play (i.e. after the snap during the QB drop back/during a HB draw etc) or the slightly low camera angle which makes it harder to get accurate perspective when you're controlling a safety who's being dragged deep by a WR on a deep pattern.

MY REQUEST
Ideally, I would love to have Madden Classic Camera back, but if that's not possible then a patch for the Standard Camera would be great.

Thanks

Re: Q&A blog with the dev team

Ian,

What is you, or your team's, ultimate vision of offline/online franchise mode?

Do you plan on releasing any data that would support the adding of depth to superstar mode? On the flip, if it is not popular, would it be scrapped to add more depth to franchise mode?

Thanks in advance,
Justin

P.S. I'm extremely excited with the progess that's been shown with the game this year, its not perfect but if you improve as much as you did over 09, this franchise is in good hands.
