I agree. I like the way the puck moves this year. It feels like it is on ice now. The goalies are looking great too this year. I love BAP mode. I am digging that big time. Still haven't been drafted by the Sharks yet, but that is becasue I keep scoring goals in the stars game. But I am no teammate. I always get a D in that, but for stats A to A+.

Its more so proving a point. The two people who have an issue with EA's presentation are pretty much the same two who have a hard on for 2k's flashy arena intros and their herky jerky celebrations when pretty much no one else does. Coincidence? Doubtful.

So far the most exciting thing I have heard when the wings score a goal is the announcer and not the crowd, and to me it should be the other way around. And the Arena's, I know this isn't a big thing to some people but it is to me, this game should have the actual arena's to give it some authenticity complete with all the intros and the goal horns etc.

2K did a fine job with that last year and has improved upon that in 2k10 as was shown in the Detroit Redwings game intro. 2k's arenas come to life, each and everyone of them and that's a huge part of hockey IMO. NHL 10's gameplay seems to play a fine game of hockey no doubt, but they could go a long way towards having a complete game if the developers would take the time to add more of the bells and whistles that you actually see in a hockey game. I'll gladly give them my 60 dollars if they ever get around to doing this.
Eh I just don't see it. Fans cheer in 2k9 when the away team scores or the home team takes penalties, they don't react realistically to the play on the ice. Their goal celebrations are downright awful. The commentary is a 5 year old script, corny, and unprofessional sounding. Sure their arenas look great and the flashy intros are a nice touch but theres alot more to presentation than those two factors. I score a goal in the NHL10 demo, the crowd reacts based on which team I am appropriately, Thorne goes nuts and sounds genuinely excited and I'm greeted by a professional looking cutscene of my players celebrating, or high fiving the bench. I'm fine with that personally.

i've gotten the EA title the past 3 years, but i agree with Eddie here. The presentation is better for 2k and the gameplay overall COULD be better than nhl 10...who knows.

I mean, if the pass accuracy of the cpu can't be fixed on superstar level....NHL 10 to me is a failure. great thing 2ki has taken out the high level boosts, I just don't understand why EA has to take this route. It totally ruins the integrity/realism of the sport....pretty ironic that EA hockey always uses the buzzword "AUTHENTIC"......still ways to go.

Eh I just don't see it then on the presentation front, though 2k's commentary is so grating on me thats prolly a big reason why. I think the cpu sliders should help to remedy the situation when it comes to pass accuracy, not to mention the player attributes slider should greatly affect guys with low passing ratings as well. Obviously we won't know for sure til retail.

One of the best demos I've ever played. Great idea of changing the scores each time in game 7, that's a great plus. The Be a Pro mode was also perfect. I loved everything about this demo and I can't wait till the 15th. You guys at EA did an outstanding job on the game!

So your previous claims that there is no AI cheating are false. The AI can make perfect tic-tac-toe passes at rocket speed, skate twice as fast as the players on the human team, have perfect shooting accuracy, and have sticks that are incapable of being lifted. Are there any other AI advantages/cheats we should know about. This has to go for NHL 11. Sorry, I do not mean this to be an attack on the developers. I have no idea how hard you guys work to make the game we want.
Do you know what separates you guys from 2K though? Although each game is not perfect and does have its fair share of glitches/bugs, you guys listen to the community. Your competition does not. You guys care and actually do fix what is wrong. This will take you a long way. So, please eliminate AI boosts, since you do not want to call it AI cheating even though it is the same thing, in NHL 11.
The CPU does should not get advantages. It should get smarter instead. Better positioning. Smarter and tighter defense. Smarter passes. That kind of stuff. According to a 2K developer, all AI cheats and boosts are gone in NHL 2K10. No reason why NHL 10 should have them. AI cheating should now be a thing of the past since sports games are getting more authentic every year.
The AI boosts can be turned off. I've never made the claim that the CPU had no advantages on superstar (I have said that there is no cheating comeback logic, which is true).

Of course the AI ideally wouldn't need to cheat and the amount of cheating is getting smaller as we improve the AI. It isn't any easy problem to solve.
