Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview

After reading the franchise mode preview, I have a few questions (and notes) -

1) I'm assuming that mini-camp is nowhere to be found but Owner mode still exists. Is this correct?

2) Is it possible to skip pre-season completely and start from week one of the regular season?

3) What are the pre-existing injuries for all 32 teams? And if turned off, does it actually work because I remember the last Madden I played years ago still had players injured despite me having that damn option turned off.

4) There was a previous Madden that showed in-game highlights of other games while you were playing your own game. What year and system was this for?

5) I noticed that with injuries, there was a player from BAL B. Scott who was out with a broken fibula. Is this Bart Scott and how was he traded back to BAL or should BAL be NYJ?

6) Quinn was sacked 62 times??? Wouldnt that break Carr's record? And doesnt CLE have a good OL?

7) Its disappointing that Shanahan, Cowher, Holmgren, etc. arent available in he 2010 off-season.

8) Its also disappointing that my 49ers dont have their two first rounders in 2010. I hope EA adds that in a roster update or something.

9) Can someone please explain how "player interests" works in regards to free agents? I saw Sproles listed as an example and for what's listed, is that what your team has to be in regards to him signing with you?

10) A 3rd round draft pick was only rated 47????????????????? WOW!!! The rating setup has dramatically changed for the better even though I dont think that a third rounder should be that low.

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken haven't we been able to pause the draft picks or change the pick speed to slow, medium, and fast. I'm like 99% sure that was in '09

I've really enjoyed your Madden write ups, they are very helpful.

I generally play 8 minute quarters and like to have about 65 offense plays per game. I noticed there is an accelerated clock option and was curious if you can post any information on how many minute quarters you play (or simulate with) and about how many offensive plays you average with those settings? Also, what accelerated clock option you are using with them.

Thank you.

"Max Users (2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32)"

So that are the only choices for number of users for online franchise????

So we can't play with three or five people?

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview

Why is everyone complaining about not being able to edit players ratings in franchise mode? If you could do that nobody would care what rating their rookie was, they would just make it go higher to where they wanted it to be, progression would be pointless because you could make all your players better.

You shouldn't be able to edit ratings once your in a franchise, do it before it starts, that's good enough.

Though I'm still very interested in seeing how some of the rookies and/or players progress after a year, and the stats they had which made them go up however many points.

The only miscommunication I can see is if when he says 'Within' Franchise Mode, he just means 'In' Franchise Mode. But when he says 'Within' Franchise Mode, it can lead people to believe that he is talking about after you already started your franchise.
This is pure bull crap that EA won't put this in there. Why not allow us to edit our franchise as we see fit? This is especially disappointing because it would be nice to be able to edit the draft picks since I really do not trust the game to import the draft classes appropriately. Every year I get excited about this game and every year I get let down.

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview

Steve, can you edit all Teams player's uniforms and such AFTER starting the Franchise or do you have to edit within Rosters and then load the edited Roster before beginning a new Franchise?

Typically, I've had to edit players across the league within Roster and then load that Roster to use in my new Franchise? I'm hoping I'll be able to edit any player on any team at any time during Franchise??
