Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

I got sacked quite alot, maybe i held on to the ball too long, but i like the passing game, i can actually throw over defenders heads now, and players will catch the ball without slowing down.

The defensive lock is really cool and after a few games all i did was play as either a LB or Safety. I didnt run much at all so i cant comment on that. I rarely got a sack on defense, there was really no pass rush.

I also liked how i got burned Deep a few times, but a majority of the times theyd pass to players who were running outta bounds and that sucked.

Overall I think the game is garbage. In an effort to be constructive I'll list the things that I like and what I think is complete trash.

Complete Trash:

-The Player Models: between Sam Bradford's vein popping biceps and the incredible hulk linemen and kickers, it's safe to say this game represents a steroids era of NCAA Football.

-Run Animations: Absolutely horrid. The only player that seems to have a realistic running animation is TE#18 for Oklahoma. I'm sure other players have this animation, but it's the only one I can reference from the demo. The WR's and RB's animate worse than Gumby.

-Lack of refs, chain gang, etc: EA created the slogan "If it's in the game, it's in the game." Well those things aren't in the game, yet they were somehow on the PS2 and Xbox.

-Player Control: The players move as if there is no weight to them. This has been a problem for next gen and is support for why this shoddy engine should be scrapped.

-Pass Rush: Amazing how something so obvious gets by quality control two years in a row. This with the added kick to the balls that the sliders are yet again broken really make me wonder if this series has become an intern project at EA.

Things I like!

-Stadiums: They sure do look nice

-QB Sneak Mechanic: I like it.

Everything else is pretty much the same old song and dance.

You cant even make out the numbers or positions on the back of the players jerseys. (smaller print)

It just seems really off to me

Wow, I just played the PS3 version and I am stunned.

I feel like I'm playing last years game but with PS2 graphics. The players look absolutely terrible, no pass rush, cpu had all day to pick me apart on slants and crossing patterns. What exactly did they change for this year?, certainly not presentation. The regression in graphics is so bad its embarrassing. Please tell me it looks this bad because they had to step it down for the demo.

I had high hopes for this game, but after playing the demo I will not be purchasing this game. It's sad to see how far this game has fallen. I know the design team is sick of the negativity but really, it is what it is.

Ok I feel much better now! After going back and watching the vids Steve posted, it is obvious that is not the same annoying camera that is in the demo....... so either it has been fixed for retail version or there is an option to go back to classic cam. If you take a look @ those vids it definately appears to me to be the old camera angle we are accustomed too. Wish we could get some confirmation on it but look for yourself and see what you think.

Same shhh different year.

Robo QB is still there.

No pass rush.

CPU QB completing passes for -3 yards.

I played as OU and Tebow had like 16 pass attempts and 2 rushes.

All the major problems from last year are still there.

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

a couple things i liked were the the game planning features how i could make a receiver go deep after his route because it helped me tie the game and i also like the new camera feature that isn't forced but optional. the game is still too easy imo on heisman.

i don't get why everybody looks like they got some steroids before the game tho. a lot of players look more cut than built up in real life. they all look like thomas jones from the jets in different colors lol.

did anybody else have trouble with wr screens? i couldn't even complete one.
