Ian aka Tony Romo has done a great job in one year. I have my issues with certain things but it's certainly a great improvement and I'm looking forward to playing it.
Didnt know Cleo the Psychic got of of jail to join OS,go in a madden forum and bash Backbreaker.

It would be nice if, in the future, they made comments like..."What a touchdown run by Chris Johnson, he is a budding star who rushed for over 1,200 yards this season and it's continuing into the playoffs."

Or something like that...but like I said, that's aimed towards Madden 11 and onwards.

Is this a earlier build or is this a later build of E3.

Better than someone coming onto a Madden forum and propping up backbreaker and dissing Madden, the game that the forum is dedicated to.

You really think Backbreaker, a game that few people know much about, is going to be anything close to as good as Madden?

There was a fake FB dive on that play. I think the safety was biting on that. I mean, the safety probably shouldn't be biting on a FB dive but I'm just saying... I think that was the reason he got sucked inside, not a bug.

If it's a game breaker for you then that's a shame because most of us have seen flaws that we dislike but we're willing to ignore them because we love VG football.
It's a game breaker for me . It's inexcusable for EA to have these running animations when there's so many references available. This is something that is hard to ignore since you'll see it almost every play.

That aspect of the game just sticks out like a sore thumb. Sorry, I try to look past it but can't. Don't get me wrong , Madden has made some strides but the running animations are just awful. Plain and simple.
Seeing Chris Johnson run like that almost made me fling my monitor through the wall.
It's not real seeing a runningback run through the defense with his back perfectly straight . On top of that , he's running with these slow / long strides.

Atleast backbreaker is coming out.
The animations are really bothering me also. It doesn't look good. This is why the game is a rental for me, and then from there I will decide.

So I busted out the stopwatch because after the first half, it seemed as if the QBs had wayyyyyyyyy too much time to throw. I wanted to find out what the average time was from snap to throw for all the passes in the second half.

The results of my little test are rather interesting. First, the overall combined stats for Collins/Flacco:

12-28-4INTs-1TD..called back for holding.

The pass plays: time to release/result

3.0/inc
2.4/int

3.1/Comp...holding penalty
1.4/Screen complete CJ
3.3/Inc

2.8/Comp Heap
2.9/Inc.

2.4/Inc.
1.8/Screen complete CJ

3.2/Int. (Harper)
2.7/Inc.

3.0/Int. (Reed)

4.7/Inc.

4.0/Comp Scaife

2.4/inc
1.8/McLain
1.9/Mason
3.3/inc
3.0/Mason
2.9/inc.
2.6/Williams
2.3/Peerman
2.1/Williams
5.1/Inc.
2.6/Inc.
3.5/TD....holding
2.8/inc.
2.0/INT.

This averages out to less than 3 seconds from snap to throw. Additionally, quite a few of the passes were thrown under pressure. The pressure also caused a fair amount of incomplete passes.

I know the blocking and line play does not appear to be perfect, but based on the results it seems that it may be less of a problem that a lot of people think.
This is a great brakedown, but I do question it. From what I saw on the videos there wasn't really any pressure on the QB prior to him throwing the ball. The game seems to reward those for sitting in the pocket , which is cool but it seems way to long.

Its really hard to argue something when a large amount of the community is speaking of the same concerns. I know this was a ton of work for you, but if you dont mind. Do another breakdown on how many pass attempts are in the game and how many involved pressure on the QB. I guess also the time it took.

I think the real problem is the amount of animations that are involved in the line play. It looks very simple and vanilla. You dont see any real upfield rush. Anyway Ian is aware of it, and by Aug 14th it should be improved. The line play not animations.
