Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion

Regardless of what people are saying in this thread, I remember a few days ago where Pastapadre stated something in Twitter and Ian responded.

PP said that there was a big concern in online franchise mode, and he was going to post what it was. Then Ian stepped in, and told him to hold off because the Madden team had things in the works.

"There is one big concern with the mode but apparently there are some things in the works to address it, so I’ll hold off on posting about that for the time being and will update when I know more."

PP didn't say exactly what it was, but I am wondering if it's the salary cap and trade logic issue you guys are talking about.

Guys they can't fix anything while they are still at E3. Next Monday they should be back in the office and tweaking everything as much as possible before release.

Ian said everything was serverside when it came to Online Franchise so even if it didn't come in the game to start off with, then it could be added.

Re: Please tell me that Salary Cap IS IN for ONLINE FRANCHISE

Salary Caps aren't in, but Online Franchise is being run from the EA Servers. Which means - and Ian has said - that they can make updates to it after release.

They have control of it. Not like the game updates to fix bugs that need to come from PS or Xbox Servers.

So there is still hope...

Seriously how often has the line been stated by a developer and the issue remained way after the game was released?

True but you also have to understand that THIS type of server related online franchise mode they can add stuff pretty easily and on the fly.

As far as online franchise mode additions being fast, I have faith in that part.

Think of an MMORPG where companies are constantly adding hotfixes and patches every week when a new game comes out. This is the same principle. Although keep in mind that during the first week of online franchise, we might see some server downtime a little bit..it's normal though.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion

I'm really surprised about the no salary cap / trade logic. It really messed up O.F.... because those are the two key components of managing your team. I'll hold out scorn until release day, and hopefully it has both by then if O.F. is a server side feature that can be modified up till release.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion

I'm going to wait about 7 - 10 day sbefore starting any O.F., so hopefully these have a roadmap to being patched by then. I can live with the 10 years thing, the longest Online Dynasty in NCAA (which is only like 12 games) went 5 seasons last year and they had dedicated guys playing as often as they could.
