I mean, it's a video game, not a case of national security. If he doesn't know the answer...fine, say so, or say that things are being discussed and SCEA will know on or around so-and-so date.

Instead we get cryptic answers which I think is a bit weak, IMO.

They don't have to be here...its great that they are and we get early input and give feedback that makes it into the game.

The are serious ramifications of just typing what you want on the internet when you are representing your company. Confidentiallity, integrity etc.

He gives us info as it comes without putting his *** on the line.....in todays economy you can't blame anyone that wants to stay employed can you?
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the first post. He was polite and has the right to ask for answers. If that bothers Russell than oh well. Some of you guys are so uptight that the slightest criticism will inflame the developer that its just too much imo. We shouldn't have to filter our comments on a message board or in certain forums just because a developer shows up.

You are right though Ruffy. Russell and the rest of the dev team don't have to be here. They chose to be here. They chose to come before the game released, interact heavily and provide a lot of great info to advertise for the game. It's a give and take. If they want to come here and market the game and accept the praise that most people give the series, then they have to also accept the negatives and answer the hard questions. I have a big problem when any develop comes on a message board, posts like crazy to promote a product and then pleads the 5th amendment when asked a tough question. I'm not even saying Russell is pleading the 5th but some of you guys are trying to do it for him. Russell's a big boy and many want to hear what he has to say. If they voice frustration over a delay in getting info that's fine. This is a forum to do just that.

Edit: And now Russell has responded. And people are thankful.

Next week sometime we are planning to release a mini patch to fix the replay issues that were caused by patch number 2. There won't be any other fixes and changes made to the game in this update. We greatly appreciated everyone's patience and help in identifying the bugs and glitches in the game that we were able to fix. We will continue to monitor any issues the community may have, so please continue to provide your constructive feedback. As always, thanks for your loyalty and enjoy MLB 09 The Show.

P.S. I have another update that I will be posting sometime today (hopefully) this one has nothing to do with the game though.
Russell, thanks for the update. Let me be the first to pose this question. If we start a franchise now (or have one started already) that is NOT giving us replays or flashbacks, is it safe to continue? I assume that this mini patch (or patch 1 lite) will work with existing franchises, correct?

Thanks again, just wanna know if we are safe to go.

Just PM'd Russell about this (I was afraid it would get lost in the bickering...lol) He responded with quickness (thanks again Russ) and said I should be good to go as it's only addressing the replay bug.

Nice..thanks SoxFan. Being a Yankees fan, I never thought i'd be thanking a Sox fan but I just did. Gonna keep on chugging along with my franchise then.

Thanks Sox (and Russell). I re-did all my rosters off Knights set (thanks again Knight!) and started the franchise, got all the marketing, scouting and such set up and was hoping to start today or tomorrow.

So if/when i start this weekend, i may be missing some replays/flashbacks, but when Patch 1 Lite is released, all of those should come back. And the crashing shouldnt be an issue as its a new franchise. Is taht right?

Also, are people, anyone, seeing flashbacks at all now? If you hit a jack in the 2nd inning, do they flash back to it the next at bat, or does it skip it?

Rudy, no offense man, but you are being overly dramatic here. Who can even make sense of these 1,000+ posts, many of them speculation, a lot of misinformation, etc. You're right Russell is a "big boy" and he's doing what he can, but you want them to get in the fray here, lol. This is one big peeing contest. There have been a ton of accusations thrown around, haven't there?

Flat out, the devs have to be able to recreate what is causing the problem. That's been said before, but doesn't appear to be enough for some people.
