No worries man. Take care.

Yeah the reason I joined here, is because there is less bickering and bs talk. I rarely see anyone flame another and most people on OS have been quick and helpful with gameplay. I greatly appreciate everyone on here that has helped so far. Even with the patch and other chise issues, I love this game and am gonna truck on to start a new season post patch. I have been on ign and earosters and they are similiar. Too many people worried about flaming one another and really no help to the game industry. This site has changed my mind completly and I hope I can one day help another or add good perspective to someone at OS.
I have been busy with work, eidting, and my 1.5 yr old son to really update my arena etc. I look forward to doing so, so any lookers I apologize for the lack of information I provided of myself. I will update!
Tks again all

I thought the idea of a patch was to somehow improve the enjoyment of the game. Sadly this patch is an epic fail. Flame on but facts are facts.

Why? Because a large portion of you fail to realize that this is not the support forum for all issues MLB09:The Show.

There's a few developers here openly discussing their game on a 3rd party forum littered with a bunch of gamers, young and old, who love sports. Everyone here wants an answer to most of the questions posed, but in no way do you deserve an answer here at OS. Never.

If you have an issue with the way a company is handling something, take it up with the company.

I'd hate to lose the developer's presence because somehow a place where they used to hang out and talk about a game a large majority of us enjoy playing became a venue for consumer backlash when they felt they had been wronged.
Your 100 % correct Pared, and if you folks have to complain, I was always taught that you get more with honey then vingear. Hop

All those post patch "issues" seem to be an isolated problem. I downloaded the patch and not having any of these issues. I've played about 5 games since the patch.

Look, the OS veterans appreciate the fact that Russell participates in this forum. They are merely trying to maintain that relationship. In a way it is acting as an apologist, but it also is in the interest of the gamer (SCEA's participation in this forum can do nothing but make this game better).
However, if a patch causes major problems (and frankly a console game should not crash because there is absolutely no variation in the hardware) it should be taken down immediately and scrapped in favor of the previous patch or reworked and replaced. This is a PR nightmare. There is no better QA than the public and, look at this thread, it is failing miserably.
What is my experience? I started a new franchise with Knight's rosters last night (post-patch), played the whole game without a problem and viewed the postgame highlights without a problem. In fact, maybe it is a placebo effect but I think the game plays better now. However, if I start to experience issues similar to the ones posted here I would like to have the option to remove and or replace the patch.
So, yes, SCEA does owe these people something and, yes, OS does owe SCEA something. Respect.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

and, Russell works for SCEA, he did not make the game in his basement. So I hope that we all realize that this is not personal. That said, if you establish the fact that you do work for SCEA as part of your community identity, you need to take on some responsibility as the voice of SCEA. Otherwise, you should lurk or conceal your true identity.
Therefore, the argument that we are just a bunch of sports gamers shooting the **** doesn't hold water.
