Anyone care to explain how to play friends online without being in a League?

I tried creating a match but it never starts...

Don't know if they were just "unlocked" by some of the changes in gameplay or if it was actually a new animation package that came out with the patch, but I'm a fan.

And the crossovers seem tweaked.. they trigger more easily and you can do two of them quickly where before you'd often do another move or some random twitchy business instead of the 2nd quick crossover. It's deadly online now... back up and get some space, crossover, step-back, jumper... money.

Also, it seems as shooting out of the jab step happen a lot faster now. There was a small delay that really ruined the jumpshot rhythm and caused it to get blocked a lot -- with guys like Melo and Kobe who shoot out of the triple threat a lot, that was tough to get over.. seems much better now.
What do u have ur triple threat slider set too?

Default I guess, since I was mainly referring to online games on the jab step comment (since I don't play offline often). There was a big hitch before (I noticed it in the demo when trying to triple threat people to death with Paul Pierce) but it's a lot faster now and you can actually utilize those moves before a shot effectively.

it looks fine at 1080p just a little blurry but playing in philly was worse than any other arena. terrible! lol

Some things I just noticed...

You can run the pick and roll w/ Paul and Chandler AND throw the up, something which I could never do pre-patch.

The backdoor is STILL ABUSED BY cpu on all-star/superstar way too much. I hate having to be a big to cover the exploit...and they still throw it in.

Tried fixing it by lowering/upping Help D strength and STILL DIDN't FIX IT. On hall of fame, it's not too big a problem but Parker gets blocked WAY TOO MUCH going to the rim when he never gets blocked IRL. Changing shots with stick shot didn't seem to work for some reason...

It's nice because it works, much like Live's shooting sliders. Thankfully I can lower both so I don't end up with the constant 55%+ shooting from both games out of the box. Life is good.

I love the variance this game brings. People complain about the "scrubs" doing well, but that's not the norm from what I've seen. It's a rarity. Just thought I'd bring this point up the same night after Barea drops a season high 18 (with what, 9 pts. in the 4th?) and Bonner scores a team leading 12 pts. in the first half.

I've played games where a star can score 5-10 points one game, then replayed the same game and they score 30+. All with default rosters.

I guess I'll throw in the obligatory "I must have a good copy."
I've been playing with 35, 46, 46, for about 30 games now, and I really like the results I've been getting. There have been very few games where I or the CPU have shot over 50%. Good ball movement, exploiting mismatches , and easy buckets in transition, are a must if I want to shoot anything better than the low 40%'s

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah, I forgot to reset to default sliders and played with thefuture420's sliders (last update pre-patch I think) and OS Outsiders (version 6 I think)... there were too many misses in close by big men, but the jumpers and the overall feel was great. The teams shot something horrendous in the first half (I was like 28% and the Lakers were at 34%), but they ended up in the low 40's by the end of the game. I'll probably boost shooting numbers slightly, but it played great and the CPU was taking a wide variety of shots, including quick pull-up threes and kick-out mids. CPU Kobe dominated the game and took 27 shots, most of which came later in the game when they were trying to get the lead back. I ended up winning by 5 I think.

I haven't had much time to play offline (I play in leagues most of the time), but after that great game I might have to give it another look.

Um.

I started up a new Association and did a Close Shooting development drill with Jerryd Bayless. Then I did a Low Post Offense drill with Greg Oden. When I finished that, the system froze. My PS3 has now been sitting with a flashing green light and the blue light still on for about 2 minutes, stuck between off and on.

After waiting 5 or 6 minutes, I turned the power off and on. When I turned the system back in, the disc didn't show up in the XMB menu until I ejected it and put it back in.
