Re: NBA 2K9 Patch Released For 360, Impressions Here

Honestly, I saw no difference on the court whatsoever.

I was holding out hope, that the patch would make a significant difference to on court gameplay before even thinking about starting a association, but I didnt notice anything at all.

I wish I had the hardware to share the CPUs shot chart with all of you. It was disgusting. Youve all had the game long enough to guess what it was like though.

Ive had the game going on 3 weeks now, and I have given it more then a fair shot. I just do not like it, and am now at a point where I cant even look at the box without feelings of disgust and rage. To hell with that. It's not staying on my shelf one more day.

im loving the shot blocking..in the 1 game i played the cpu only went back door once. post back down seems over done i had trouble backing down haslem with bynum..no more fade away 3s (thank god)..not every open shot was made quite a few misses. cpu takes more mid range shots.. overall the game feels much better. i also saw some new defensive animations

I might have a magic disk. I find it hard to believe people dont see a change in gameplay....unless they have a set of sliders equivalent to what the update did...
I've noticed new layup animations..I must have a magic disk too

Has anyone played online yet? So far, the patch doesn't let you back down anyone, only if there is mismatch.

They didn't fix the post game, they took it out, almost.

Also, I wanna say I'm sorry to Sage, I really thought he was BS'ing when he said the CPU was throwing oops. Oops in traffic? Cmon.

Fouls seems like they are up when contact is made in the lane, kinda good.

Jerseys still doesn't show up in Season/Assoc. mode.

Still can swipe forever and you swipe right thru the ball, anytime after the 3rd swipe a foul is called.

Guys leak out on breaks and player movement thru plays are sped up.

FT's are easier.

Default 2k cam is too far out, 8/8 - No key Zoom is a good setting.

In summary, patch fixed some things but screwed up some other things.

I guess its all jumpshots and dunks, screw posting up.

The Post Game is SO MUCH FASTER. I'm surprised no one else has seemed to point this out - Bynum is literally breaking Rasheed the **** DOWN right now, and when I just got Sheed on Fisher for a backdown, the fake-left hook-right I pulled off was so fluid I had to come post about it.

For those of you that are saying you are seeing new animations, how do you know you just haven't SAW those animations before instead of attributing them to the patch being in place now?

Re: NBA 2K9 Patch Released For 360, Impressions Here

As far as the post game, and this is PS3 Patch speaking, the moves are all regular speed now. Maybe it wasn't like this really on 360, but all the post moves felt like they were in quicksand. Now I'm seeing Bynum and Gasol constantly using finesse in the paint and when I tried a fake-left hook-right with Sheed it took one fluid motion to pull off, it wasn't like a bunch of canned stuff that wouldn't string together and took a full second each to pull off. I jsut tried it again with Maxiell on Odom and OH MY GOD. The post is so quick now, I can't believe it.

But you're right, it's pretty ridiculous that Maxiell can't backdown Odom even a little bit. It's like a brick wall as far as backing down. But the post moves themselves are craaaaaaazy now.

I saw Danny Granger root Elton Brand right out of the blocks on 3 straight trips down court. Brand couldnt move him. Elton Friggen Brand, couldnt out muscle a small forward that he has 30 pounds on. That was the final straw for me. I almost tossed my shoes though my living room window.
